March 27th, 2010

We sell DSTROYR clothing in our Wrecked Magazine Store so we got together on how to do a promotion before the 350z went in for it’s final wrap job. This was quite the burnout on our Falken FK452 tires! More fun coming from the Project Nissan 350z very very soon!

NRG Steering Wheel [INSTALLATION]

March 15th, 2010

NRG Wheel Install on Project 350z
For today’s installation we are going to put on a NRG Steering Wheel 320mm Sport Suede Oval wheel with the flat bottom. Step One is removing your stock steering wheel from the steering column.

NRG Wheel Install on Project 350z

Once you have removed the OEM factory steering wheel you will need a NRG steering wheel hub that is made for your specific vehicle application.

NRG Wheel Install on Project 350z

Once the wheel is mounted onto your hub it will look like this from above. The quick release system they provide is super simple to use and will help you get out of your car so much easier with the racing seat.

NRG Wheel Install on Project 350z

Here is the wheel sitting properly replacing the OEM factory steering wheel. The steering wheel is real suede and has a great gripped section for perfect handling and control compared to the bigger 350z wheel that comes factory. We also shredded some weight by removing all the electronics in the steering wheel and airbag.

Riverside Nissan

Here we are on the roof of Riverside Nissan for the YouDrift meet. It was a great crowd of Nissan and RWD  cars so we had to bring out our 350z.

Riverside Nissan

Here is a photo of our Project 350z taken by Jon Chase of DSTROYR.

Riverside Nissan

The best looking car in the whole show was this old Datsun 510.

Big thanks to DSTROYR for shooting photos for us and making a blog post since we forgot our camera: http://dstroyr.wordpress.com/2010/01/26/on-the-roof/

Status Racing

Just before the weekend we got a great gift in the mail from one of our new partners Status Racing. They are racing harnesses for Project 350z. We selected a 5 point black/black harness which will look great with our car. Most importantly the harness is FIA compliant making them a great race belt option.

Project 350z At Universal Technical Institute Open House 2010

January 15th, 2010

Project 350z

We rolled the Nissan 350z out for the first time at the UTI Open House in Rancho Cucamonga, California. The open house was hosted in conjunction with Monster Jam.

Project 350z

Although we are a tad behind on tech articles here is a shot of our wheels, tires and brakes that are coming soon with tech articles. All four wheels are running Performance Friction Brakes for excellent stopping power. The wheels are HRE 540R’s that are 20×10.5 in the front and 20×13 in the rear. We mounted 245/35/20′s on the front and 305/30/20 Falken FK452′s on the rear to complete the wheel/tire combo on the Project 350z.

Project 350z

Here are some students and teachers checking out and talking about our engine setup which includes Brian Crower cams, a Koyo radiator, and the Vortech supercharger.

Project 350z

Monster Jam is also in town this weekend so they brought out Grave Digger. I deemed our car was Mini Digger since we have a similar purple/green setup. Personally I am a fan of Maximum Destruction in Monster Jam who defeated Grave Digger taking home the double down in Atlanta last week.

Project 350z

Riley ,who is a local drifter in the Inland Empire, showed up for the Adams Motorsports Park booth and we were stoked to see he is still representing Wrecked Magazine on the tail light of his S13, nice work sir!

VSII-Style Seibon Carbon Fiber Hood [INSTALLATION]

January 13th, 2010

A hood swap is a very simple task that you can do in your home. The hood in the 350z is secured by four bolts which you can take off with some basic tools.

Here is what the bolt will look like that yo take off to dismount the hood. We suggest once the hood is removed you take these bolts and screw them back onto the hood so you don’t lose them like we did. The Seibon hood comes with it’s own hardware so you can leave the OEM pieces with the OEM hood.

The hood goes on with four bolts and fits with ease. We ended up removing our mesh grill since it was getting a little too close to our Vortech supercharger belt and we liked the open look to the hood.

Here is the final setup on our flat carbon fiber hood. The Origin body kit and wheels are about to come and really complete the exterior look to this great Nissan 350z. Thanks to the guys at Seibon Carbon for this great product.
