We are doing a large (30 so people) Thankgiving pot-luck dinner at my house, and we are handling turkeys, seating, some drinks and sides, and our guests are all bringing a favorite dish. To help fund our feast, we decided to clear out the recycling shed. Since we have alot of people at my house, and while i mostly contribute clear glass to the recycling pile, my roomies, and our guests tend to drink alot of canned beers ($$), it should be a big help towards the dinner.
Got the ol dodge super loaded up with bottles and cans
roommate dylan sorting through super gross bags of old wet beer cans
The big payout, 160 bucks!!!!!
The checkout at ralphs, 26lb turkey, 10lb turkey breast, plates, tablecloths, pans, tupperware etc, we spent every cent!!!
Thursday is going to be awesome
It was an exciting year at the SEMA convention, lots of new parts, and cars to look at, and lots of exciting things to talk about.
There was a bunch of neato sparkly cars, and big engines that make alot of hp, and girls wearing next to nothing, and the parties……..oh man the parties were………..crazzzzzzzzyyyyy. My favorite part was the unveiling of this car……….. called ROCK BAND 2~!
Rock Band 2 is from a small company called harmonix, and let me tell you, this car is awesome, handles great, you can play drums, 2 guitars (one guitar, one bass guitar), and sing!!!!!!!!!!!
So first things first, find the band—–here is roomate Travis, he’s skilled in the ways of the drums, mostly, and also is pretty good on guitar-
Next we needed a bassist. Bassists are historically chosen for three things, Stage presence, Bitchin Hair, and the ability to play the bass, in that order. Filling that slot is Lindsay Ross (part time DA ace, full time rocker).
And then theres me, i can play the guitar pretty well, i’m learning on the drums, which are super fun, but wicked hard, and i can work the microphone better than those two. So here’s our first band setup……
This was sweet for awhile, but then we realized, wait a minute, we have 4 instruments for the game, and we are only using 3, that just can’t be right. Also, like i said travis is about ten million times better than me on the drums, so we decided to find an old cymbal stand, tape the microphone to it, and viola; full on rock band 2!
This game rules, i know we look like 15 year old dorks, but its worth it. Spending the day with this thing cranked is SO much fun. Stopping only for drinks, and food, and checking out the oddly clear LA sky, SEMA week was awesome!!!
Thanks to our gardener who we convinced to take those band pics, and BOOOO to travis’s ex-gf for taking our awesome stereo when they broke up, now rock band 2 isn’t as loud.
Had an early Christmas present come in last week.
My new RX-8 Chassis, courtesy of Mazda USA.
They plucked this 09 model off the assembly line, pre-sound deadening, just for me!
Painted East Coast grey, of course, as mazda knows how to get down.
Thanks to Forsbag and Linz for helping me get this thing back home.
Big Thanks to Mazda USA for all their support!
Plans are-Figure out a bodykit for the new 09 body style
-3rotor Turbo or NA PP
-some kind of custom widebody for the rear
-Figure out a tranny setup that will hold more power, and won’t constantly explode
Sitting in the parts warehouse
Yes, it has a part number. And apparently, it needs investigation~!
His name is RYAN T-U-E-R-C-K, i know he might not be the loudest, best known DA driver, but he’s awesome, and the ladies love him, so spell it right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how are they gonna search him out on www.ryantuerck.com if you spell his name wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME it appears on this website?????????
Randomly during the year, Just Drift and BH (brian harte) host a 2 day event at WSIR in the lovely Rosamond desert called ALL STAR BASH. It’s the least serious event in drifting, fun, food, nighttime sleep over party with 100 people, games, wii, dirtbikes, and oh yeah, drifting. This was my 3rd all star bash, kids came from the NW, Colorado, Utah, Mexico, and Florida for this one! Awesome! Some broad even came from Australia. We ran balcony the first day, and Horse Theif Mile the second day. fun fun fun!

After NJ FD, i had a chance to go hang out with New Hampshire gang for a few days, super-relaxing-fun time, all the time!
The Tuerck’s have the funnest house ever, pool, harleys, they have a FIRE POLE that goes from the 2nd floor into the basement! NH is beautiful, the lakes, and small roads, and tree canopies are amazing. All we did was kick it, ride motorbikes, hop in the pool, bbq, ride the fire pole, and got some tattoo work done by dave(edge). House party at the house the first night, tons of fun and food, and everybody dropping R’s.
Philly to NH flight takes about an hour and ten minutes, awesome~~~~~!!!
Went to spyglass tattoo, and had a bitchin soda, its sooo good.
Kate says this soda is number one! She wears pretty flowers in her hair.

I am a blog slacker. I’ve been meaning to report on all the fun things that happened since we left off. It’s been such a daunting task, because there is so much to tell, that I’ve been procrastinating getting started. That stops now! I want to get this info out to everyone in the electronic wonderland that is the internet, so i’ve decided that i’ll be doing 10 min blog entries, and more and more of them. Here goes!
FD NJ
Formula D NJ was great, as you may know, i hadn’t made top 16 at the first 2 FD events, and that was not part of our plan for 2008. We were very disappointed after the Atlanta event, and worked really hard on the Rx-8, making major suspension changes, to make the car fast, and to make it smoke! John at JIC, and Kevin “the wizard” Wells, both had a hand in changing the car before FD, and we went into the event with high hopes!
The track was HUGE, 4th gear clutch kick entries, to a giant link, and then power through in 3rd gear. It took a day to figure out gearing, and spring rates that would let the car get around the course properly. We qualified like 5th on the Friday, and felt pretty good, scores were higher than they’ve been recently. Saturday found us feeling good, and driving hard. I would post up a 92.5 for top 16, which placed me 12th! woo hoo! All 4 DA guys made the top 16 for the first time ever, and in front of a massive hometown crowd. I had to run the JIC’/Hankook rocketship that they have stuck a Porsche badge on, consistently the fastest car at the track, I just went for broke from the get go. After the first set of runs, i was up 12-11, and we had to run a one more time. We w0und up hitting the clip, and Tyler advanced to Top8. All in all, a very successful weekend, and leaves us wanting more from Las Vegas. After the event, i was able to head to New Hampshire for a few days of fun with the Tuercks, and we screened the DA DVD for a packed house in Philly, which was lots of fun. Both of those blogs to come!
NJ pics
Sometimes I have no idea what I’m doing in my race car.
Leaving this morning for the NEW new jersey round of Formulad. I am so excited to run this new course at E-town Raceway Park. It looks fast and awesome. It’s about time we got to run a course in the Northeast that will show real speed and drifting excitement. I’ll be trying to get some top 16 points for the first time this year, we’ve been working on the car between rounds, trying to make it a bit faster, thanks JIC, for susp tuning help….. check it out..operation make smoke!
See you in Jersey!!!!!!
Also check out how i felt about the old NJ track in my DriftZone episode that just came out…
