Something happens most times when I sit down to write a blog post, I have some big grand idea in my head, I write for about an hour, and leave it to get something else done, and it sits in my Drafts folder on here forever, and by the time I get back to it, I just don’t feel like it’s worth putting out there anymore. I actually wrote a whole long intro to a blog about Freedom Moves, and how ULTRA-RAD it was (best time ever), and never got around to finishing it. Anyway, this one won’t be like that, I’m sitting here in my Brooklyn pad, with coffee and Springsteen, and this is getting cranked out now.

As you have all heard by now, I’ve announced my departure from Formula D where I have been occupying the Judges booth, and Technical manager position for the last 3 yrs. I’ve spent the last 3 years working with FD to make so many changes that I think are at least partly responsible for the continued growth and strength of the series. In the last three years, we’ve introduced:

-Top32 tandem

-Category based qualifying judging, with Style emphasized

-Tire/weight rule

-Skipping to the next match when a OMT is called (so much better for the show)

and so on, and I can say that I’m very proud of the work I’ve been able to do at FD, and really thankful that they put me in a position to do my best for the sport that I ┬álove. The sport is continually evolving, the drivers, cars, even the tracks, and FD has done a killer job of keeping the series steered in a good direction, always growing at an organic rate. That being said, I’m fully confident in their ability to pick suitable replacements for those open positions, and I think that the discussions online might even give them some food for thought (the intelligent discussions, not the ridiculous ones).

Moving on,

I’m so pumped to get back into a seat, and I’ve been working to put together a Kickass program for next year! I’ve been driving missile cars with all the rippers in the NE (more on that to come), and getting everything together. I’m still working on everything, and I will absolutely announce everything I can, and write posts along the way, so you guys can follow me on my way back into FD next year. I know that everyone is waiting to see what I’ll be driving next year, all I can tell you is that it will be awesome, loud and fun! Oh and check me out on twitter!
