Aaron Losey sent me this gem with the Mineral wells gang throwing down in the lawless plains of TX.
Mantry’s a plenty as well as hand holding makes this video a killer.
So i was meaning to throw down the “Clubloose year in review” video up here but i kept forgetting too.
Then i was cruising the internet and saw Drift Live beat me too it in their blog. In addition they had some really kind words…. This is what they had to say!
“Take note kids, best video of drift racing action I have come across in some time. It’s works hard (but not to hard) to remind us that drift racing cars is serious business. Highlights include beer troll and Jeep Cherokee Sport drifting.”
I want to take this time to thank Slavik of Cquens productions who is out there almost every event throwing together some video to make the Clubloose guys look good.
Here is the video.. Hopefully he will take the time to put it in HD on vimeo like he has in the past…. Thats right Slavik shoots it all in HD.
Andy of DA “Stay Hungry” fame whipped up this awesome video recapping the Clubloose Banquet. It is a retrospective into the drunken underworld of Clubloose. good times!
Boy are we psyched for the 3rd annual Clubloose Awards Banquet and drinkfest 5000! We are having it at the same Bowling alley as last year. We rented the whole bowling alley in PA for the entire night. Its catered and all the booze and NOS energy drink you can handle. It only cost $75 a couple for all this or $50 for a single. As always we have Open Mic Karaoke all night and a sweet dance party in the basement.
Speaking of NOS, our friends at NOS Energy Drink sent us some drinks and some Swag for the group. A WHOLE PALLETS WORTH!
I spy some Grape and Fruit Punch in the mix. Always a crowd pleaser.I wonder what kind of awesome concoctions the Clubloose drinking team will come up with this year.
I was making my rounds on my google reader today i hit up Noriyaro and found a spread about Garage Sunrise aka Tetsuya Hibino’s “shop”. After glancing through these exquisite shots i found this one.
If you look on the back window you see a sweetly placed Drift alliance sticker .. For a corolla lover this blog post was cool to see up close and personal a 2 wycked corolla that you usually have to watch hurtling by in video’s. Hibino has done alot with corollas and him rocking the DA sticker made me happy.
Its been a long time since i had my own drifty car. Running events has taken all my time and doesnt exactly leave me with money to play with building a car wise. But now im doing something about it… 2009 will be my triumphant return to the contols of my old never finished drift car. “The headache machine” as she was once refered to is a total heap of shit corolla, But with its unmodified 4ag it never broke down and rarely broke parts. Now anyone who knows me knows i hate working on cars, actually i think im allergic to it. I get all lazy and sleepy at the thought of actually touching anything but the steering wheel. Thats where my friends come in. Thank god for those guys… You know the type.. they actually like me.. and are really fucking sick of me driving their cars.
When my buddy Ryan (motor swap) Moses was on the phone with me listening to me complain about not having a car AGAIN this season he suggested we swap in a rotary i had in my garage that was for another project i will never finish. I laughed and re-explained my adversion to getting oily and dirty. He said “ill swap it” and i said “uhhh ok” I offered him the mint 85 RX-7 shell i had as payment and he immediately got to work.
Ryan is no stranger to crazy motor swaps. He has had 4 or 5 different motors in his FC3S besides the rotary. A year or two ago he did THE CLEANEST SR swap EVER! into an Fc… This year its a Buick GN motor .
Ryan Got busy and put that fabrication skill to work with my car.
Currently i need a radiator, rear, and driveshaft to finish my project… Hopefully i get it together in the new year.
Ryan also wired up my haltech and handled some odds and ends i had to get done. Thanks Ryan!
Coming up is my top five predictions for the 2009 Drift Season.
5: JTP will crush shit!
With all the hooplah and hubabaloo surounding Justin Pawlek it would be criminal if he did not perform next year. With the Wrecked report of him being added to the payroll for 09 under the Bergenholtz team. I expect great things form JTP in 09
4:ClubLoose East Coast Bash Better than last year!
Duh!
3:Gardella and I update our wrecked Blogs.
VS
After i easily Destroyed Tony Angelo in the 08 Blog on wrecked “drivers” Challenge.. My new challenger is Rookie Wrecked Blogger Gary Gardella. Can his redbull fuelded madness combat my Diet Dr Pepper Addiction????? Im doing this all for cadbury schweppes and 23 Flavors!
2:Formula D fans realize they dont miss Taka and Hiro.
With all these “power moves” being announced in the world of formula D we have to ask. Where are Taka and Hiro going? Who cares?
1:Vaughn Gittin Jr does NOT change his facial hair concept!
With Drifting winding down I have had some spare time on the weekends. I am sure I COULD be doing repairs around the house or working on my corolla, but my girlfriend (Susan) and I have been heading over to our local Animal shelter and pitching in.
Its pretty sad to see all these homeless dogs. I don’t know what would make someone drop a dog off there and just throw in the towel. These little guys and girls have so much love to give and i can tell when we show up some are really happy to see us.
When we showed up to the shelter the first time to help out they asked what we wanted to do and we didnt know what to say. They had us socialize the dogs and to work with them on basic commands and get them used to walking on a leash. Some of these dogs have lived their whole lives without being on leashes or having to “learn” anything but how to survive.
I got assigned to a 50 something pound Staffordshire Terrier named “Puck”. When i opened his crate he was covered in shit, yeah like ALL covered in it. So i gave him a bath. Since that first weekend anytime i take him out for an adoption day he gets a bath. Most dogs hate bath’s and fight you start to finish. Not Puck, he doesnt fuss, fight or try to escape. He usually looks ahead and every so often looks over at me and gives me a lick on the face. I have been working with Puck for about a month or so trying to let everyone who stops to pet him at adoption days know what a sweet and loving dog he is. I would tell them how well he walks on a leash, how he learned to sit on command in like 5 minutes. How great he is with kids, other dogs, and other people. I talked about Puck to anyone who would listen, including my neighbor. After all that, our hard work had paid off, My neighbor Brenda signed the paperwork and is adopting Puck this weekend. So now i get to see him everyday!
So im heading out to the second to last Clubloose event of the season. I usually dont sit and watch youtube video’s of drifting (cause i would rather drive) but this one is pretty rad. I have drifted a corolla more or less since the beginning and these Team Mouse cars are pretty nice. Im sure they have no power and rattle like all hell but hey, thats part of the appeal. Here is a team drift option video bullshit of them running. I love AM drifting so much. The first entry is AMAZING! everyone needs to do dirt drop to jump entries!
