cause im getting yelled at.

June 16th, 2009

Well everyone is yelling at me (J-rod and Dan most recently) to update my blog with the events of ECB 2 as well as the debauchery of Formula D after party. Sadly i havent had the 2+ hours of free time to throw the 900 pictures i took of those weekends up on this computer.  So instead of the past lets look to the future. ECB 3 will be July 11th. This past weekend we were at ClubLoose HQ and it was raining hard. So we took the downtime to make a Flyer for this upcoming ECB!. Here is the results of our hard work. Enjoy

A sweet video i just saw

April 17th, 2009

So with things being mega shitty around here with the bad news i got yesterday…More soon.. i have been looking for some stuff to take my mind off of it. this video did the job.

I want to say how i love to see Norcal getting some drift events going after alot of trouble they were having with venues and so on.

so watch this and tell me what you think.

Before the Genesis.

April 14th, 2009

So the genesis is the talk of the town these days. With Rhys Millen never going to make it look awesome we might have to rely on some more stylish “amatuer” players to make it look like a proper ass kicking machine.

UGH!

Its amazing what some TE37’s, proper ride height and clean paint can do for a car.

If i had to choose i would take the FWD V6 anyday.

Im Trying Here.

April 14th, 2009

Finding time to update this has been really challenging with the start of the drift season and other general time crunches. I just got back from Austin Tejas, where i was judging an FD qualifier. Pics of that to come. In the mean time i want to talk about my van cause i have been trying to mess with it instead of the corolla since i drive the van every day. Here are some pics of the crap that has been done to it lately.. Sorry for the rainy pics. Its gross here.

the door cards original fabric was all beat up and peeling off so i went to the fabric store for some crafting supplies and changed the look in the interior a little.

The exhaust on a minivan never really expects to get real low. So clearance isn’t really a top priority from the factory. After dropping off some parts at my buddies shop CF Performance we got to talking about fixing my exhaust since his entry is pretty bumpy and the van was scraping the exhaust everywhere.

While i was in Austin i had him master-craft me up a custom one using some spare crap he had lying around.. Designed for ULTIMATE in clearance.

He finished it up with SWEET Corvette Tips cause thats the only car he works on. It tucked up real high and is real quiet the only things i really cared about. THANKS CHRIS!

Here is how it looks on the van.

Congrats to my DA brothers.

March 27th, 2009

I just wanted to break my silence with some good news for my DA brothers from MD and PA.     John Wagner

And Brian Wilkerson

Will both be smoking up those awesome Maxxis tires. It seems after they threw it down at Pro-AM with podium finishes they now rip on maxxis tires. Congrats brothers see yall at East Coast Bash!

THE BEST GOD DAMN DRIFT VIDEO I EVER SEEN!

March 4th, 2009

I know, I know its on the main page of wrecked… I know……Jesus.

But this shit is so good i think it should be shown to all guys who film action sports of any kind. When i am kinda down on drifting as a whole (it happens its winter time) I see video’s like this and it fully restores my faith that we are making progress with this dumb sport. If pro drifting got you down,bored,angry.. It reminds us to take a breath and check out what the Grassroots has to offer.

This is grassroots drifting at its best. If Clubloose Won 2008…. Then this video already won 2009….. Thats it.. no more applications! I love almost every second of it. The music sucks but besides that it is wonderful.

Highlights include but are not limited to:

Fat Photographer getting blasted with minitornado of dirt

Awesome tandem and multicar shots

A real sense of speed

The “chase” cam angle

The rapid cuts so ADD suffers dont get bored..

So without anymore crap here i is:

Drift Mechanik’s Gossip Girl Marathon And Some Drifting

Congrats Drift Mechanik’s (worst name ever BTW) for ruining drift video’s for me forever!

Now use all this creative talent to come up with a new name.

With love,

326 Power Wins again!

February 26th, 2009

Anyone who has ever liked drifting should know who Mitsuru Haruguchi is. So i will skip that step in explination of his newest invention for really lowered cars. I will take this time to complain as usual about all the professional drift cars that look like monster trucks and look like ass. With that said here is a picture of the 326 Power car on what looks like 20’s.

Notice it is still tucking RIM!. Now Haruguchi is saying that with his new 326 power arms you can keep your shit low and still have proper suspension travel. Im sold….. Haruguchi said it!

Here is a translation of the page from some of the guys over at PartsShopMax Forums

Drift Heaven, Febeurary 2009, pg36~39.

“recently, I think people who fix up VIP cars have thought about really SHAKOTAN~~~ rides and its improvement way more. I think it shouldn’t be this way. we are the roots of shakotan” said by Haraguchi, who is one of our most respected drifters and makers of super low drift cars!
Haraguchi says, “last year it was pretty popular to have drift cars with 18s up front, 19 in the back, but for this year I think 18’s all the way around but rear wheel tucked half way in the quarter panels is going to be hot, well at least that is what my car looks like this year. Last few years, a lot of people have been giving up and raising their cars to get more suspension travel for performance. I say, instead of raising your car to achieve good suspension travel, make your suspension to have same suspension travel at way lower ride heights.”

So the lowrider drift legend Haraguchi himself came out with parts this year to help people who hasn’t forgotten what is it to be a “shakotan”=low rider and still have fun drifting, even at a competition level (to look and drift better with people who has performance oriented cars)!

#1 Haraguchi RUCA
-Newly designed in the way so when the suspension is compressed, it does not hit the chassis.
-Ball joint with more rage of motion.
Haraguchi says,”basically when your car is so low, your regular suspention arms does what is called “arm lock” which prevents you from having suspension travel.”

#2 Haraguchi tie rod ends
-Designed to off set the tie rod end so that you would have less chance of liocking your steering.
-wider range pillow ball end.(steering can feel smooth this way, no arm lock.)

#3Haraguchi toe controll rods
-As we all know when you lower your car a lot, your roll center changes and some cases toe rods would hit the subframe mounting point. my toe rods are bracketed in the way that the toe rods can have a full range of motion.
-Ball joint with more rage of motion.
“every small thing counts, raising your subframe can help greatly to your suspension travel and roll center. I was able to get the subframe up by 20 mm by taking the collars and moving the E-brake lines. This modification is almost essential for super low drift cars”

#4Haraguchi traction rods
-Ball joint with more rage of motion.
“people usually say shortening your traction rods can give you more traction, but at 326 power, we lengthen them for super lowered cars. instead of rear lower arms moving forward, it strokes toward the back and release its energy.”

He also wanted users to understand that besides these suspension products, obviously you have to achieve fender to wheel clearance in order to get the right suspension travel.
The best way to know where in the wheel wall to modify by bolting on all the links and parts, then take off the bottom bracket off the coilovers. Use a jack to lift up the suspension with the desired wheels and tires and see where it hits. So you can either hammer to it or fabricate a new wheel wall.
He has a few more products that he is working on right now. Next one up is front lower arms with tension rods build in to it.

I cant wait to see these make their way to the states.
