The guys at COED Magazine released a hilarious list of the five people you will be lucky enough to encounter while playing games such as Modern Warfare 2. Since I play with quite a few people often in the drifting industry I figured we would all find this hilarious.
1. The Camper
2. The Cancer
3. The Veteran
4. The General
5. The Complainer
“All organizations are hierarchical. At each level people serve under those above them. An organization is therefore a structured institution. If it is not structured, it is a mob. Mobs do not get things done, they destroy things.”
I am sure you have seen we launched Fantasy Drift over at Wrecked Magazine and it is one of the most exciting projects I have worked on since we launched this website back in 2007. The concept was a personal vision of mine after being hooked into fantasy NHL hockey and fantasy NASCAR.
Now all of the die hard Formula Drift fans can enjoy a great game to play while following the 2010 series. The video above walks you through the registration and draft process. If you still have questions or are confused on any element of the Fantasy Drift please use the website contact form at the top right of the site to ask any questions.
I just want to thank everyone who contributed thoughts, marketing tips, game building logic, or time to this project. Everyone at PM Lifestyle was a huge help on this project especially Jason Small who single handily coded and created the logic my concept to a reality. My last thanks goes to all the media who blasted out our project: MotorWorldHype, UrbanRacer, Fatlace, Formula D, and everyone else!
This second video walks you through the process of how to play the game once your draft is complete in April. Bookmark this video since you will need it to really play the game at 100%.
I wanted to spend a quick second to introduce you to one of my favorite automotive related websites for the moment. The site is run by “An anonymous auto show model dishes about what really goes on behind the scenes, our interactions with visitors and what you need to know about how to behave in public. Hint: Don’t touch me,” according to her website.
She dishes about the life of an auto show model and the dumb people she interacts with on a constant basis. She has a witty sarcasm behind her words and quite the sense of humor. If you want some more insight on why you don’t attend auto shows around the USA or need a good laugh this is your go to website. She has to be one of the best choices for giving you a great perspective of events that take place and some top notch diction to really set a quality tone for her posts.
Before this website I use to be really good at life blogging and lately I am just way to busy to get around to it. So last Thursday I had a really full day so I made sure to document it for the blog. The first photo above is Lucky who is my roommates cat. He is quite a character and greeted me before I left in the morning with him in the “play dead” position. Funny story actually is that the cat use to belong to Daijiro Yoshihara.
I headed down to Orange County for the first leg of my day and off Highway 55 there happens to be a Chick-Fil-A which I grabbed some breakfast at. They only have a few of these in California so when I am near one it’s a must for breakfast.
I saw this 1957 Porsche Carrera on Highway 55 heading to Hyundai. This thing looked flawless and was well maintained and cared for by the owner. It had a great sound to it as he flew by me down the highway.
My first stop was Hyundai North America to pick up some Genesis seats. Miles was a great help finding some seats for a new project we are doing. We will have more on project coming to the website soon.
I had to drop off my Mercedes carburetor to get rebuilt since it has been having some issues after it idles for a few minutes. In the parking lot is a red Mercedes CLK63 AMG BlackĀ that looked fantastic. A white M3 was also in the corner of the parking lot when I swung by.
After dropping off the Mercedes parts in Orange County I headed up to Manhattan Beach to shoot some Wrecked Magazine voice overs. Peter from Modified Magazine lives at the apartment we were recording at and had this nostalgic Super Street Magazine cover hanging in the dining room.
Nik did an awesome job with our Wrecked Magazine voice overs. She is the voice of a tutorial we are releasing later this month. This second photo is Nik engrossed in deep thought about her favorite Formula Drift driver Rhys Millen.
After dropping off Nik and heading into Downtown Los Angeles I found some traffic of course.
Here I am crossing the Sixth Street Bridge heading into Los Angeles. This bridge is always empty and has a distinct look and feel that I just love as you drive into downtown.
Coming off the Sixth Street bridge you get a great view of Downtown Los Angeles. It’s also not very often you see clouds around Los Angeles so I really liked this shot.
Sitting on a desk when I walked in to my meeting was a Forza Motorsport 3 Xbox 360. Very few of these were made and it features an Audi R8 and a carbon fiber styled front.
I also scored two gifts while visiting including Halo 3 ODST and a Snoop Dog x Famous Stars Straps 10 Year Anniversary Party t-shirt. The photograph of Snoop Dog was shot by Estevan Oriol.
The last shot comes from the ID Agency where some awesome classic cars are sitting right now. My favorite is this blue Chevrolet truck you can see in this shot. After leaving here it was off to home in lots of traffic.
So I found this old NBA Jam cabinet advertisement from Midway and it has me super jealous about my setup. Mine has a black finished side and is missing the NBA/basketball vinyl seen in the photo above. It sounds like a vinyl project I am going to have to take on soon.
Vaughn Gittin Jr. swung by our house before having a meeting with an advertiser as he makes his round through Southern California. He brought over a 2010 Mustang convertible in my favorite color grabber blue. Here it is in the driveway next to Project350z!
Just before Vaughn Gittin had arrived my Christmas present finally came in. It’s a full NBA Jam arcade system which can play up to four people. We had some intense battles on the sticks before he finally had to head over to his meeting for the day.
A quick snap before he left of the Mustang and 350z from the front as well.
I made a list of My Road Trips I took in 2009. With two rallies, one move, and several OEM car manufacturer tests it was quite a busy year. Gumball 3000 was by far the most memorable trip I made this year over seven days in May. These were the 10 best trips I took and remembered for the year. Thanks everyone who came with me on these adventures and hopefully we can do 20 for 2010.
February 2009: Atlanta, Georgia to Los Angeles, California
May 2009: Gumball 3000 from Santa Monica Pier to Miami, Florida (Gumball3000.com)
May 2009: Dubai, United Arab Emirates (You can only do public transit maps on Google Maps here so I just marked some places I went on a drive)
July 2009: 2010 Ford Mustang Road Trip (Red Rock Canyon, Formula D Las Vegas)
August 2009:2010 Hyundai Genesis Road Trip (Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle)
August 2009: 2010 Nissan Altima Hybrid (LA to SF)
September 2009: 2009 Targa Trophy Rally: Los Angeles Leg
October 2009: 2010 Mitsubishi RalliArt Sportback Evo (Lima Ohio to Los Angeles, CA)
November 2009: 2010 Chevrolet Camaro (San Diego Beaches & PCH Cruise)
Here is a compilation of my encounters with the law in 2009. That would be 8 total that I can remember, one pull over wasn’t covered since it happened late at night in Oregon.
