Mount Wilson x Angeles Crest Highway Fire [SNAPSHOT OVERLOAD]

August 30th, 2009

Los Angeles Fires - Angeles Crest Highway - 45mph Sign

Currently over 35,000 acres have been destroyed north east of my house in Los Angeles near Mount Wilson and on Angeles Crest Highway. Driving home from Walnut yesterday you could see the insane smoke clouds looming on the mountain range.

I wanted to go explore and snap some photographs since this is my first big Los Angeles fire during my nine months living here. Instead, I spent the morning combing the Internet and found some amazing photographs from the fires as they burn. I cannot really see much from my house due to Laurel Canyon and the Hollywood Hills. Here are some great photographs that will leave you speechless.

Check out the fires in Los Angeles proper as well out by the ocean. These are pretty crazy as well!

High School Flashback: Ford Focus Flips [VIDEO]

August 26th, 2009

Back in high school I owned this amazing 1996 Midori Green Honda Civic. Quite often some friends and me would drive in the empty mountain roads near where we grew up. This night in the video me and a friend went out in his Ford Focus. He got a little too excited and took off way to fast for this very confusing turn. It’s a huge S with a 40 foot elevation change with a kink at the top of the S which you cannot really see.

He didn’t know the road that well and wound up hitting his brakes and dropping a tire off the road. The ground drops off just off the street and the car flipped into the ravine, slide around, and landed against a tree. He was completely fine and more pist that his CD’s flew everywhere into the forest. The car was totaled without a question but a crazy video came of it which I just found in some old files. Below is a picture of my 1996 Civic Hatchback that was the camera car in the video above.

My New Car: 1966 Mercedes Benz

August 25th, 2009

1966 Mercedes Benz

Here is my new baby I bought from south Orange County just before heading out to Formula D Sonoma. It’s a 1966 in great condition with original factory paint. I will have a full photo shoot up soon but the car is in daily driver form.

Here is a front end shot of the Mercedes just before I bought her. The car is in such great condition for a 1966 and I just love the look of the front end.

This is the factory Blaupunkt radio from Mercedes. It doesn’t work but I am stoked to have the OEM radio inside the car. I have some more great stuff to show off with the car but I will show it off with the full photo set coming.

Hyundai Genesis Road Trip [IN PROGRESS]

August 9th, 2009

We are finally making our trek back down the 1,200 mile Pacific Ocean/West cooridor back into Los Angeles. With a late afternoon start we headed down Washington and somewhere in Woodland, WA we spotted this old barn off the highway and went out for a photoshoot. The local police were not as keen as we were on the idea and we got escorted back to I-5 and moved on to Portland, OR. We stopped at Rogue Ales Public House in downtown Portland for a quick bit which is where I am blogging from now.

The snap I took was a photo I was able to get off before the police ruined our great shooting location. Stay tuned to my page and the main blog where you will find much more information on how much I am loving the Hyundai Genesis and how fun our 2,000 mile trip up the west coast has been.
