X-Games 2008!

August 11th, 2008

I headed out to Los Angeles for the 2008 X-Games in Los Angeles, California to document ACP’s NOS Energy Drink Mitsubishi Evo take on the Rally-X.

Walking around the rally pits I found a R35 Nissan Skyline which was amazing. I hadn’t seen a red one on the streets in person yet, I really like it.

More pit action…..

Check out the amazing view we had at the Home Depot Center from NOS Energy Drink’s hospitality at the end of the stadium. It was great for watching the rally jump during competition.

Check out Tanner Foust mid air on the jump during the first round of Rally.

ACP squared off in the second round to face Dave Mirra in his Subaru WRX. Tragedy struck the NOS team when they were unable to clear the landing completely and the car proceeded to flip. Since PM Lifestyle (our parent company) was producing a NOS TV episode from X-Games Rally we happened to have an in car camera inside the Evo rally car. Check out the video from the accident.

X-Games 14 Rally Accident – Evo Flips!

The only noticeable damage that happened to our stuff was the DV tape got this white spot on it. The camera came out with a few minor scratches and we have already used it again, amazing!

Rolling back through downtown LA we spotted the Goodyear Blimp up in the air.

Downtown Los Angeles

A friend loaned us his new BMW M6 for a while which we got to terrorize LA with. What a blast! Sadly we didn’t find the “power” button until after having the car for an hour. Make sure to turn that off when test driving (it’s to the right of the shifter). We got a whooping sub 6.0mpg and had an amazing time driving this well built machine.

Last but not least before sending LA off we had to hit up The Pantry in downtown LA which was by our hotel. It’s the longest standing resteraunt opened in the United States, they stayed open everyday through the great depression…..pretty wild.

Moving the blog over here to Wrecked

August 11th, 2008

Well I have been leaving JoeyRedmond.net with quite the lack of updates so after some talks we decided to have a staff section on Wrecked to divulge our personal endeavors. I live on this site all day and every day so I can promise you that the new home for my blog will get updated on the regular! Much more than the drivers lounge slackers.
