Every monday night my team ( Team Overdosed ) hold a car meet called the JDM Mondays..Its a huge meet that has gotten even bigger over the years ( you can read the whole story in the next issue of PAS Mag ) and Im there every monday shooting the cars.

Even tho the meets are called “JDM Mondays” All types of cars show up. Like this flat silver AMG.

Its crazy that every week about 500 or more cars show up to these meets.

Check out the gallery from last night.

I was bored one night so figured to try out some light painting with my little Canon PS. The light painting is not 100% good but it was freezing out ( -17 ) so I did what I could before I couldnt feel my hands anymore.. Again..just showing that its skill( the little bit I have..lol ) that can pull off photos and not the camera..

With it being winter and all I do not have that many chances to shoot for my “project” has been going slow.. I did have the chance to shoot a rally cross but it was freaking cold so I was not able to get as many shots as I wanted. So far Im VERY pleased with how everything is turning out with my not so expensive camera. One thing I have found is that the cam does not have a small enough aperture to pull off good panning shots in day time. Im going to make a filter holder for the front of it so that I can add a ND filter or two..Check out a few shots I took with it at the rally cross..There is also a few fun pics I took in my back yard and one shot I took at a press conference.. I was zoomed out to the max and the lighting was bad..but I still think it came out good..

One thing that really bugs me about being a professional photographer is the amount of people that think they can do it too just because they have a DSLR camera or think that us Pro’s only get nice shots because we use cameras that are worth more then most peoples cars. So for the fun of it I decided to launch project NPYMUHAGC…it stands for ” Nice Photo, You Must have a Good Camera”
Basically this is just a fun project for me to help show people that its not the camera that makes the difference but the photographer. So thanks to boxing day specials I picked up a 200$ Canon point and shoot camera ( yes a Canon on top of that..lol ) and I plan on using it pretty much all the time on photoshoots and while shooting events. Im very exited to see what I can produce with this little camera, First thing I get to shoot a winter rally cross event..should be fun.

I got a new camera bag this week, A Think Tank photo Shape Shifter bag. Its a bag that I always wanted but I found it a little too expensive since its a bag I only would be using at DMCC events.. Lucky me I ended up finding one used online for a crazy cheap price..the best part is that it was still brand new..the owner already had a Shapeshifter and won an other one in a contest so was just getting rid of it.. I wanted a bag that I could use at the same time as my modular belt system to keep some of the bigger glass and also to have a place to put my cameras if it ever started to rain while on track, which has happened more then a few times. Im amazed with how much gear I can put in the bag..I can actually stuff my entire “drift” kit in the bag even tho I will still be using my Think Tank AirPort Take off bag as my main hauler bag. Ill be writing a better review of the bag when I actually have a chance to use it..for now check out a few pics of the bag with my set up in it..

D700/D300 both gripped and with Camera Armor, 70-200 2.8, 300 f4, 28-70 2.8

In the front top section I have a 50 1.8, 85 1.8, SB-800 flash, spare batts, lens cloth, memory card wallet, Spyder holster mount and Cotton Carrier mount. In the bottom section I have a memory card wallet and a pouch with spare batts for my flash.

Even will all that this bag could take a lot more gear.. Very impressed with this bag.
