Finally after a few weeks of testing I can write up a review of the Blackrapid double strap (http://www.blackrapid.com/product/camera-strap/double-strap/ ) ! I used the strap in all the different shooting situations that I regularly shoot, Shooting weddings, Drift, Lapping and Drag.. On first impression this is a very high quality piece of photo gear..its really well made and is also comfortable.. My usual set up for motorsports is a Nikon d300 with a 70-200 2.8 and a Nikon d700 with a 28-70 2.8…The true test for this strap for me was using it for the entire weekend straight at DMCC round 4.
At first I found that I had problems with the strap shifting because of the weight of the larger lens while I was using the smaller camera set up..But after some strap length adjustment I was able to get it perfect. An other problem I had was less related to the r-strap it self but I also use the thinktank harness system..It took some changes to where I had pouches placed and r strap lengths but I think I was able to get it properly set so that both harness’s work well together.. Once I had everything set up properly it was amazing how everything worked so well…I was able to switch bodies and shoot different parts of the track with ease..It also came in handy while walking through the crowds of people..I didnt have to worry about my second body getting knocked off my shoulder.
For shooting drag and lapping I just used one body..I hooked the other strap onto my belt loop and was able to use the double strap as a single strap with no problems at all..One of the problems I had tho was when I shoot drag racing I often kneel down and I found the strap would not be long enough to let me properly bring the camera up to my eye with out it feel like I was pulling on it..but again it was just a matter of setting it up a little better in order for it to work for me..
For weddings I only used it for a short period of time..it worked really well BUT since I try to be “not” scene as I shoot a wedding I took the r strap off since it gave me that photo rambo look..
My only real negative point was that while shooting DMCC the connectR actually got stuck..I was not able to loosen it with my hands..I actually had to go see one of the race teams in order to get a pair of pliers to get it off..I dont know if it because I over tightened it or what but still was a slight problem.
Over all I love this system..I was recommending it to all the other photogs that were shooting at DMCC rd4..As long as you take the time to properly set it up with your gear it works flawlessly. Its a great way to have your gear always ready to shoot and the piece of mind that they wont slip off your arm and crash to the ground..something that has happened to me in the past..

After having some slight issues with my D300 I decided to take it into Nikon to get fixed..Only problem is that while it would be away I would need a camera that is up to par to shoot weddings ( my d200 is not) soooo I went out and impulse bought a nice new Nikon D700..Its pretty much the same as my d300 but with a full frame censor ..Its pretty pimp..and works great..I broke it in nicely at DMCC rd 4 and thanks to my good buddy Ryan it also got sprayed with Champaign ..lol

My weekend started off with a wedding. Was a really nice wedding and even had traditional asian dragon dancing..was sick to see! So after that 15 hour long wedding..leave downtown to head home to find out that the highway is closed due to repairs..euh! almost 2 hours to get home..finally get to bed to then have to get up at 6 am and drive for 1.5 hours up north to shoot a property..do that..come home..then head back out to shoot some timeattack/drifting…Now I have a lot of photos to edit!

I was lucky enough to get a dual strap by BlackRapid..Its pretty much a camera strap that lets you work with two bodies and have them in a way that it is quick and easy to go from one camera to the other and also making sure that they wont go anywhere while in use..Ill be trying it out all this week at the different events I shoot and then write up a full review..
you can check it out at www.blackrapid.com
