Last night I got to head on over to the Forza 3 Motorsport party at the top of the L.A. Live Parking deck. I must say, it was a pretty sick event. We got some hands on game time with the new Forza 3 game that Microsoft has been working on for the last 2 years. From the demo’s we played, they have done an amazing job. The cars looked great and so did the tracks. The level of detail was amazing. For some reason all of the games that I have been playing latly only supported 720p. It was nice to see that Forza 3 is full 1080p and makes good use it. We got to talk to the game developers who have poured their blood sweat and tears into the game to make it an awesome racing sim game. They have spent an untold amout of time working on the physics engine, the graphics, and adding tons of content to the game. This game is going to be sick.
Last weekend was Formula D Atlanta. The event was one of the best drift events that I’ve attended. The crowd was insane and the drifing was just as good.
Last week before Formula D Atlanta, I found myself at a convention that I never thought that I would be a attending, the Windpower 2009 Expo in Chicago. The conference is the meeting of the minds when it comes to Windpower. I must say that I was a litte impressed by the show. We were busy filming so I only remembered to grab a few shots:
We just rolled up some updates to the twitter feed. Before the feed only pull in results from one keyword, “Formula D” now with the changes you will be able to see tweets from anyone using several terms including “Formuald”, “Formula D”, “Formula Drift” and “FormulaDrift”. This means that you will get more comprehensive coverage from the Formula D events this season. The Formula D Long Beach event had more than 500 tweets that were recorded from people at the track. I’m hoping that we get over 1000 for Atlanta. The Formula D Atlanta Event Channel is live over at: http://www.wreckedmagazine.com/twitter/fdatlanta09/
I don’t know what it is about LA, but I’ve seen more pink cars here than anywhere else. Check this one out:
This little beauty was parked at the local Denny’s over on Sunset. Turns out this one was not owed by some unknown crazy person. This bright pink Corvette was owned by Angelyne. Don’t know who that is here is a better picture:
According to wikipedia Angelyne has been appearing on billboards since the early 1980’s. Angelyne compares herself to Barbie, stating that “Kids think I’m a Barbie doll”and, in one billboard, “Barbie wishes she were me.”
It seems that this year is the year of me going to bike events. This event.. Daytona Bike Week. This time it was a blur, in one night, film the next day and them home in the morning. It was intense.
We spent a lot of time filming with Paul Teuttul Sr. from Orange County Choppers, including filming him from the back our our sweet KIA.
Its crazy to see the following that Paul Sr. has. He signed autographs for 2hrs straight.
As usual it wasn’t all work, we did have time to head out with the locals and enjoy the Full Moom Saloon.
Not to much fun though, everyone was still working hard.
Right after we rolled into LA from Atlanta, there was no time for rest. It was time to get to work. This time it was filming Kyle Busch for NOS playing in the sand on his day off. This place was in the middle of no where. No cell phones, no gas stations, nothing…
Well it was time. The Wrecked Magazine office has relocated from our home in Atlanta to one on the West Coast. It was time for me to make the hike our there as well. Basically the trip took about 30hrs and was a non stop trek across the country.
A view looking back..
A view out the front:
I think we drove 40 forever:
Since we were in a rush, there was no time for stopping. You were either sleeping or you were driving:
After a while looking at the clock became annoying. That was easily fixed with the help of a simple gummy bear:
After about 30hrs we made it to LA. There was no time to rest. The next day we had to be out in the desert to filming with Kyle Busch.
Thats right its 1234567890 Day!!!! Woot. What does that mean? Watch the Video. Prager from Revision 3 stroll over to a local bar, where founder of BitTorrent explains what 1234567890 Day is, bescides a reason for nerds to get drunk!!!
