You know how you know that you have thrown a great drifting event?? Its not the amount on tickets you sell, its not the amount of people that come or even the the amount of drivers that show up, its when Darth Vader takes the time out to busy schedule of hunting down the Rebel Alliance and comes and watches some insane drifting action.
That’s right. Darth Vader along with some storm troopers attended the MSC Drift at Obaiba event. I think that I smell a real story here. I think that Vader is going to start drifting… Think about it, when he was younger he was an excellent podracer, he took first place on the Tatooine circuit and won his freedom at the age of like 10. Compared to podracing, drifting should be easy. Plus he can use the force. He can forget the e-brake, and just use the force to make the car go sideways And if he loses he’ll just choke out the person that beat him or blow up the planet with the Death Star. The real question is going to be what series is he going to run? Will he stay in Japan and rock the MSC or D1 Series? or will he jump over the pond and take Tanner off of the FD throne and be the next FD Champion. I’ll keep my ear to the street. When Vader starts drifting, Wrecked Magazine will be the first to let you know.
For now, you’ll have to settle with the spy shots of Vader taking in the MSC drifting action over in our MSC gallery.
That’s right, I’m getting getting more and more into these social sites. I’m just joined flickr and have begun adding photos to it. I’ve been going through my iphone and adding some sets. There are some really good ones on there some that have not been on the blog before. So ya. www.flickr.com/photos/jasonsmall
Over here at Wrecked we’ve gotten a lot of requests for a video rss feed so that people know the moment we post new videos. For the last few days I’ve been working on the Wrecked Magazine Video RSS functions. I thought that I would post a few of the rss links here before rolling them out live on the site. You can subscribe to the feed using a client.
We’ll see how these work out and if there are no problems they should roll over to the site in a few days… Please let me know if you run into any problems with the feeds so I can make sure that are working properly.
Over the weekend I was mostly working on Wrecked, adding some long over due features to the backend. I did however manage to escape from my desk for a little while and catch the new bond film Quantum of Solace. I think that it was a very good bond movie. I must say that Daniel Craig is growing on me as a James Bond actor. I don’t think that he will ever replace Pierce Brosnan. That will just not be possible.(I spent to many hours watching Goldeneye and playing it on the N64) Daniel Craig plays a much darker and deeper Bond the Pierce does. I think that I’m starting to like that. This movie has much more action than the last one, but at the downside to that it did have some lacking in the plot developemnt area. But I can over look that after it is a Bond movie, action is what you want in a Bond movie. Overall a great movie and that I recommend to anyone that want to go an watch a good movie.
It takes a lot to impress me on the internet these days. I must say that I’m really impressed with hulu. About 30 Minutes ago I noticed that hulu was not playing the videos that I wanted to watch. Frustrated, I fired up twitter and starting complaining about how it would not work. About 5 minutes later a new peron started following me. @hulusupport curious I check out their profile. This is what their last message was:
It turns out the Hulu monitors twitter to figure out probems that they are having. There were tons of people that were asking questions and hulusupport was helping them out. They also told people about outages in their area. I find this very impressive. To me that shows that hulu understands that people that watch their content. I’m impressed.
Its really had for one describe what actually goes on during SEMA. Its wears people down, drives them mad and it also drives them to sleep in random locations on the show floor.
and for some reason when people are sleeping on the floor, people like to sit on them.
Some times you just have to crash on the floor. Even though there are chairs to sit in:
Other people, like Will SEMA has a different effect on:
and then some people just lose their minds:
Well, thats about it for my SEMA coverage. I’m now back in the ATL and back in the grind. It was fun.. It was crazy, it made me go crazy…
To every one that was there, its was crazy and wild as usual. Theory team, fun workin with you as always. James glad you finally made it and you rocked it hardcore. (I’m assuming you finally made it back to Atlanta. Stupid Airlines). Kelly thanks for putting up with us and rockin some sweet interviews. Jayke you killed it.. Will awesome hangin with you at the hostel. Another crazy SEMA done.
This SEMA the crew kept quite busy. We had several tasks that we had accomplish. Most of these involved filming the show for one reason or another.
Waiting for the Naughty NOS Girls to finish their autograph session so we could film their interview for NOS TV.
We also filmed with with some of the formula D Drivers including Sam Hubinette who was unveiling his new 2008 Drift ride: :
Vaughn also put down a solid interview as well.
An interview with Chris Forsberg for NOS TV:
Unless you were at SEMA you would not believe that crazy things that happen there while you are trying to get work done. While we were filming an interview for NOS TV with Norris, some random man thought that it would be a great idea to take a picure with Kelly. Never mind that Norris is talking to the camera giving the interview, the man asks him to to take a picture of him with Kelly. I have only one way to describe this “Amazing”:
Any way you should check out the Wrecked Magazine SEMA video coverage as well as the videos for NOS TV. We will have more NOS TV interviews up in the next couple of days.
I can honestly say that SEMA this year was a real blur. It can about way faster that it should of, it hit hard, and then left with out warning.
Since we were staying off of the strip about 30 minutes of our day was spent driving back and forth to from the house to the convention center. For most of the these trips i played the chauffeur. I did not bring my little hat but I should have:
I thought that my driving skills were awesome. But when i looked back the faces often looked like this:
But anyway, the SUV we rented still works, more or less.. Although the transition is starting to slip a little.. And its still in one piece although I still have to return it to the airport tomorrow…
