Quantum of Solace

November 17th, 2008

Over the weekend I was mostly working on Wrecked, adding some long over due features to the backend. I did however manage to escape from my desk for a little while and catch the new bond film Quantum of Solace. I think that it was a very good bond movie. I must say that Daniel Craig is growing on me as a James Bond actor. I don’t think that he will ever replace Pierce Brosnan. That will just not be possible.(I spent to many hours watching Goldeneye and playing it on the N64) Daniel Craig plays a much darker and deeper Bond the Pierce does. I think that I’m starting to like that. This movie has much more action than the last one, but at the downside to that it did have some lacking in the plot developemnt area. But I can over look that after it is a Bond movie, action is what you want in a Bond movie. Overall a great movie and that I recommend to anyone that want to go an watch a good movie.

Hulu Get It

November 13th, 2008

It takes a lot to impress me on the internet these days. I must say that I’m really impressed with hulu. About 30 Minutes ago I noticed that hulu was not playing the videos that I wanted to watch. Frustrated, I fired up twitter and starting complaining about how it would not work. About 5 minutes later a new peron started following me. @hulusupport curious I check out their profile. This is what their last message was: hulu-twitter-support

It turns out the Hulu monitors twitter to figure out probems that they are having. There were tons of people that were asking questions and hulusupport was helping them out.  They also told people about outages in their area. I find this very impressive. To me that shows that hulu understands that people that watch their content. I’m impressed.

SEMA 08: Mayhem

November 10th, 2008

Its really had for one describe what actually goes on during SEMA. Its wears people down, drives them mad and it also drives them to sleep in random locations on the show floor.

joey-redmond-sleeping-sema

and for some reason when people are sleeping on the floor, people like to sit on them.

passed-out-at-sema

Some times you just have to crash on the floor. Even though there are chairs to sit in:

Other people, like Will SEMA has a different effect on: will-jumping

and then some people just lose their minds:

Well, thats about it for my SEMA coverage. I’m now back in the ATL and back in the grind. It was fun.. It was crazy, it made me go crazy…

To every one that was there, its was crazy and wild as usual. Theory team, fun workin with you as always. James glad you finally made it and you rocked it hardcore. (I’m assuming you finally made it back to Atlanta. Stupid Airlines). Kelly thanks for putting up with us and rockin some sweet interviews. Jayke you killed it.. Will awesome hangin with you at the hostel.  Another crazy SEMA done.

SEMA 08: The Work

November 10th, 2008

This SEMA the crew kept quite busy. We had several tasks that we had accomplish. Most of these involved filming the show for one reason or another. filming naughty nos girls video

Waiting for the Naughty NOS Girls to finish their autograph session so we could film their interview for NOS TV.

We also filmed with with some of the formula D Drivers including Sam Hubinette who was unveiling his new 2008 Drift ride: :

Vaughn also put down a solid interview as well.

An interview with Chris Forsberg for NOS TV:

Unless you were at SEMA  you would not believe that crazy things that happen there while you are trying to get work done. While we were filming an interview for NOS TV with Norris, some random man thought that it would be a great idea to take a picure with  Kelly.  Never mind that Norris is talking to the camera giving the interview, the man asks him to to take a picture of him with Kelly. I have only one way to describe this “Amazing”:

Any way you should check out the Wrecked Magazine SEMA video coverage as well as the videos for NOS TV. We will have more NOS TV interviews up in the next couple of days.

SEMA 2008: The beginning

November 9th, 2008

I can honestly say that SEMA this year was a real blur. It can about way faster that it should of, it hit hard, and then left with out warning.

Since we were staying off of the strip about 30 minutes of our day was spent driving back and forth to from the house to the convention center. For most of the these trips i played the chauffeur. I did not bring my little hat but I should have:
jason-small-thedriver

I thought that my driving skills were awesome. But when i looked back the faces often looked like this: Jayke and James Riding in the SUV

But anyway, the SUV we rented still works, more or less.. Although the transition is starting to slip a little.. And its still in one piece although I still have to return it to the airport tomorrow…

SEMA 08: Wrecked Magazine Hostel

November 9th, 2008

This year at SEMA we decided to change it up a bit. Last year we stayed on the strip. That proved to be quite dangerous, so this year we decided to rent a house that was off the strip by a few minutes. This way our team would be able to stay together and not be spread out across around a hotel. Plus we hoped that no one in out group would get drunk and go an get married again :)

wreckedmagazine-pool

I was so amazed by the pool that I forgot to take a shot of the house. This pool was sick!! Not only that it had a hot tub as well.

wreckedmagazine-work

Since we were updating video content every day we had a command center setup in the living room. wreckedmagazine-imac-shipping

Yep, we brought an iMac. Some times you really need a bit more processing power. Expecially when trying to get videos up the same day.

I must say that having the house was one of the smartest things that we did for SEMA. Next year we will be back in a house for SEMA. Hopefully we will go for the place with the pool table next year :)
