Just got word that Jeff Jones arrived to XDC with his S13 he ran in the 2009 season. He will be competing this weekend with the likes of a few other Formula Drift experienced drivers.

This would mark Formula Drift’s first billboard in history and it sits just off the 710 freeway. I marked the location on Google Maps below in case you want to check it out for yourself. Chris Forsberg was the featured driver for this piece in his Nissan 350z vert. which will look the same pretty much for 2010 as the photo.

Here is the drivers list for the XDC event this weekend which is the first round at Irwindale Speedway. Tickets are still available for the event which they attached some huge dumb car show/modelpalooza. The drivers turn out at Vegas Drift last weekend looked better and the Just Drift event booked Sunday has 30+ listed. This might be a really easy way to license up for some drivers looking on how to get into Formula Drift for 2011.

It looks like Tanner Foust is making some noise in the Internet world with his new video. So much noise between the forums, blogs, and YouTube that many people are researching the man, myth, and former Top Gear America host out. He in fact also is two time Formula Drift champion as everyone knows here. The Formula Drift test day for Team Falken Tire cannot really seem to get much more publicity than if they tried to get it. A local news channel in Charlotte, North Carolina was doing some reporting on the scene at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in relation to the NASCAR All-Star race coming up shortly. Guess what they found going on in the infield of the track. They seemed confused but entertained with all of the drifting action and even made a horrible pun at the end of the broadcast. Here are two screen grabs of Darren McNamara man handling the Saturn Sky. Thanks for the tip That Guy.

Check out what we found on the Spider Energy Drink website. Someone sent this in to us and the main page hosts an image of Kyle Mohan’s Mazda Rx-8. Sounds like a new potential sponsor might be in the mix for Kyle Mohan Racing in the 2010 season. He already has a new tire company Nexen that was announced a few weeks back which really gives KMR a fresh face and start for a new season. If he brings that aggression we saw at Irwindale Speedway he probably has a great chance at making something happen.

Tanner Foust Drifts Mulholland – FULL VIDEO

Tanner Foust is one of the most well known drivers in the sport and he always seems to be up to something these days. This time it appears he took out his Scion Racing tC powered by a NASCAR V8 and destroyed the asphalt in Malibu, California. A two mile stretch of pavement in the California hills probably won’t ever be the same. Stay tuned to KTLA or your local news in case somebody in a Honda Civic attempts a copy cat run.

Earlier we reported on “Sam Hubinette back with Dodge for 2010” and hinted that the Dodge Challenger would be finally coming into action for the 2010 season. Well here is a rendering of how the drifting machine is going to look like at this point. We will guess the Dodge Viper driven by our blogger Andrew Comrie Picard will look similar to this one. The new team banner is listed as Sam Hubinette Racing (SHR) and they have retained BFGoodrich as a tire sponsor.

Here is a list for the northwestern United States Formula Drift Pro Am which seems to be loaded with events and opportunities for driver improvements. The guys up there show some true talent and if your in the area look at events from April to September to test your drifting skills.

In case you remember all of this nonsense around Formula Drift Seattle last season it all resulted in Tanner being fined his qualifying points for the 2010 season. If you look over the 2009 standings you will see towards the end of the season he didn’t receive his qualifying points due to a fine based on the rear suspension and some other items. Well it looks like the AEM/Rockstar Energy Drink team is getting their ducks in a row for the tech day coming up and Long Beach! Something tells me Tanner Foust and this team won’t be failing to qualify for Top 32 at any point this year, other teams be warned.
