Here is a Tokyo Auto Salon 2010 car from the Drift Tengoku booth just a week after the show. According to Noriyaro the car was sitting in the Drift Tengoku Magazine booth for the 2010 TAS show and then went to an Ikaten competition at Okegawa Sports Land held by Drift Tengoku video. The Okegawa track is similar to an Adams Motorsports Park setup in Riverside, California. The track has some more narrow roads and has been run as a kart track in the past. This Toyota Cresta went from show car to destroyed drift car awfully fast in 2010. Best wishes to the guys who have the duty of fixing this up.

Team Freedom Four Car Tandem and Crash
Check out this video from Japan featuring Team Freedom sliding around together. They are all performing a great tandem sequence until the lead Silvia gets out of shape. This causes all four of the cars to crash into each other ending the tandem drifting sequence with a bang.

Another update from Chile is these photos posted on EDRFT. It looks like Tanner crashed in a practice and took down the whole track with it. I am really shocked to see Tanner Foust in his Formula D competition car while many others wisely took practice cars. The Super Drift event kicks off soon and by the looks of it, this wide open empty parking lot might be the cause of some more carnage by weekends end.

The Formula Drift Pro Am Finals at Irwindale Speedway was some of the best drifting on the Am level everyone at Wrecked Magazine has seen in some time. With 24 drivers from around the United States and Canada we had quite a show. The junkyard of body parts at the end of Saturday was quite large but the top 16 was issued a license along with three contingency licenses. Don’t miss our gallery by Ricky Cervantes.

A while back we posted a video from this epic wreck with the Team Orange WRX as he battled NOB Taniguchi. You can watch the video of the Team Orange wreck captured by a fan here. We came across these shots from a D1 photographer really showing how hard of a hit the accident was. In true spirit of the accident you will notice the driver is cleaning up after his mess. The lesson is clearly to not make a course that close to huge metal poles that are low to the ground in the future.

This World Drift Series has been going on in China for several years now as some American drifters make the trek out to the communist nation for some sliding. For a long time we have heard rumors about lack luster safety and a disregard for anything at these events. That of course puts the spectators, organizers, and drivers in a horrible position.
From reports we are getting out of China is that the RSR Silvia above was driven by Formula D driver Ross Petty and he was on fire all night at the event. At one point he swung a little wide and flew through the tire barrier you can see in the top photograph. After plowing through some tires simply held together with a chain which was the “safety median” Ross unfortunately made contact with someone injuring them. We are not sure on the person’s current condition but we do know this person was there working as security of some sort and was not a spectator. We did choose to not post some photos we felt were too graphic and we apologize if you deem the ones we used were. Word has come out of China before with cars being flipped over without cages and things of that nature but this is the first personal injury we have heard of or photos we have seen. Our prayers/thoughts go out to the injured party and we are sure Ross Petty is shaken up pretty bad as well.

Chris Cook who is best known in drifting for his NOPI Los Angeles Dodge Viper Flip started in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this weekend at Montreal. It’s a road course track which forced drivers to qualify in the rain. Chris Cook actually drove at the NASCAR Nationwide series Watkins Glen race on a road course earlier this year. The Montreal race is currently airing on ESPN2.
Chris Cook while remembered for this insane wreck also had some great moments in Formula Drift. My best memory of him is from Formula D Wall 2007 when he defeated Sam Hubinette (MOPAR partner) in the top 16 after a great One More Time battle. Chris Cook and this Dodge Viper flip was also our cover on the first issue of Wrecked Magazine.

Noriyano put out a ton of sick content from an AE86 drifting weekend and caught a few crash sequences that I really enjoyed. The Tec-Arts AE86 got smashed up into this wall that was quite far off the track. Noriyano just snapped some great shots of this car and some other ones ripping off bumpers and body parts! He also captured some AE86 cars from the event at the Nikko Circuit.

Chris Forsberg Vs. Calvin Wan at Formula D Sonoma
Check out this intense video from this weekends Formula D weekend in Sonoma, California. Round 6 had huge championship implications and this tandem battle really mixed things up. Calvin Wan crashed into Chris Forsberg on the first run and somehow CFR held the car together with ratchet straps. We didn’t shoot this film but Andy L. did over at DA Films and it’s quiet so crank your audio way up to hear Jarod’s voice and the sound of these cars fly by. Now that you have watched the video, what do you think of the runs?
