Dave Briggs team just released another video of him testing at the Walt James Oval over at Willow Springs. The candy red Nissan 350z has plenty of space for sponsors if anyone is interested. The NASCAR powered V8 is an over the top build on the level of ASD which really places some pressure to perform on Dave Briggs with such a well built car. He will clearly be going for rookie of the year along with the other 18 guys showing up at Long Beach next week!
Watch some in car footage of Max Orido manhandling his Toyota 86 powered by a Lexus IS-F V8 engine. The car almost seems a tad underpowered compared to the big HP boys of D1GP but perhaps they have some aftermarket ideas cooking for the V8 engine. The guys at Beard Life captured Formula Drift upcoming star Jeremy lowe ripping it up in his FC Mazda Rx-7 back in Florida. Jeremy is part of the Florida resurgence that is coming into Formula Drift this season ready for a Florida hostile takeover. This comes just one year after the Formula Drift series added West Palm Beach into the series calender. A great video from the local grassroots Pro Am guys in Texas. The video was shot by Maxwell Fuerst who is a personal friend of Fielding Shredder who shot a video of him as he finished 2nd place just behind Will Parsons. The three minute video really highlights how much fun the guys in Texas are having with the Lone Star Drifting series run by Aaron Losey and the guys.Here is how the guys finished up at Round 1:

In the video below he walks through what each element of the car represents and how the wrap came together. One of the biggest shocks of the 2012 season was Walker Wilkerson who came out as a northwestern rookie and shocked the drifting world at Streets of Long Beach. Now he has a 14 front end and a big LS7 V8 engine to pull him along in the new year. His machine is still purple but it sounds quite different as you can hear on this dyno video. Will this give WW the boost he needs to pull into the Top 10 for 2012?
The Achilles Radial Tire team for 2012 is featuring two huge heavy hitters in drifting. One is former D1 Grand Prix champion Daigo Saito and the other is long time Formula D star Robbie Nishida. Daigo talks about not being able to run a full D1GP season in 2012. This marks another blow to the struggling series over in Japan. Robbie Nishida is gearing up for another season with Bridges Racing but this time running the Achilles Tire banner. They seem to be excited about the new Achilles ATR Sport 2 but only time will tell if it can be competitive against the big name tires in our sport.
This might be one of the funniest videos I have seen in 2012. I present to you Vaughn Gittin Jr. in Autotune as a review of the 2011 season which saw him finish in 9th place after a horrible start in Long Beach. Something tells me the Monster Energy Drink athlete is going to be a little more on his game this season.
Formula Drift driver and Hoonigan Ryan Tuerck took his missile car out in his New Hampshire driveway to hoon around before the Formula Drift season kicks off. It looks like he is getting awful stir crazy in the lead up time to the 2012 season.
