New Need for Speed Released at E3 [VIDEO]

Need for Speed has tapped into the industry with this new game release. Vaughn Gittin Jr’s 2015 Mustang RTR in flat silver released last year shows up drifting along with a ton of other familiar customized builds. What do you think of the newest Need for Speed game?

Vote for Dean Kearney’s 2015 livery

Dean Kearney’s title sponsor Oracle Lighting is holding a poll on their Facebook Page to help choose the livery for the 2015 Formula D season. Both liveries were designed on Forza, and these two finalists were narrowed down from several other entries. Both entries have some clear influences from previous liveries that both Kearney and Sam Hubinette have worn on previous Dodge Viper drift cars. Which design do you like better?

Darren McNamara’s MCNSport 86 Can Be Yours [FOR SALE]

The AE86 Toyota Corolla built by MCNSPORT and driven by Darren McNamara in Europe. The car orginally came to life as a Need for Speed Shift 2 video game build which you can still pick up and drive this car in the game. If you have a larger budget however, you can purchase this car in real life and drift it wherever you please. The car has a current look close to what is shown below.

Drift Stage Brings the 80’s and Drifting to Gaming

The game Drift Stage brings 80’s graphics and colors together wit modern exotic cars all ready to drift around neon filled downtown courses. The game looks like a ton of fun but it doesn’t seem to have an exact release date or system availability listed anywhere.

On top of exotics they seemed to add in some cult classics like the AE86 for fun. Can we get a retro Formula Drift car pack soon? Regardless, it looks like a blast, somewhere between Ridge Racer, Outrun 2, and Cruisin USA maybe? We will keep you updated as more information comes out about the game! For now, enjoy a video of it in action below.

15 Things I Learned About Forza 5 at the E3 Party Last Night

So last night I attended an event in downtown Los Angeles to play Forza Motorsport 5 and get my hands on the Xbox One for the very first time. The first thing I must say is I love love love the new design of the Xbox controller. It just fits better in the hand, has force feedback now in the top triggers (the top triggers RT/LT are way wider and now as curved as well) and just has a much friendlier overall design. The controller redesign is going to prove to be a stroke of genius.

The big announcement was that Indy Car was coming to Forza 5 (snoozer) and some cool historic Formula 1 cars which I think it pure awesome. Sadly, nothing was announced on the drifting front but the whole Falken Team was present at the party, Justin Pawlak’s Ford Mustang was on display, and in the gift bags when you left I got a model Justin Pawlak Ford Mustang. Hopefully we can take this as a hint that some Formula Drift love or official builds will come into play like years past with the RMR Genesis and Top Secret S15 Silvia.

Now here are the details and things I have learned about Forza 5 so far:
1. Vinyl/Layers cannot be imported into Forza 5 (new engine/system
2. Every car in the game will be available for Autovista Mode (now Forza Vista)
3. All paint changes, wheel modifications, etc.. will be present when looking at your car in Forza Vista Mode
4. New reworked AI that learns how you drive and finds/improves opponents for races
5. A cinematic movie score is present in the game.
6. No weather or night racing in Forza 5 (thanks to
7. Paint is now layered. Clear coat and items are separate in the engine allowing very authentic look to cars.
8. Single player can be played not online
9. No dirt/rally racing like in Forza Horizon. With new engine in Xbox One different tarmacs will feel different. I drove a street course in Prague with terrain changes you could feel like transferring to a bridge.
10. Thrustmaster wheel to replace Fanatec as official wheel (rumor posted by
11. During daytime gameplay the dashboard has reflections on the windshield within the in cockpit race mode
12. This game will run at 1080p resolution at 60 frames a second.
13. Regular DLC packs are staying in Forza 5
14. Right trigger provides force feedback under shifting adding a feel to the car. Under braking the left trigger vibrates progressively more
15. No current agreement with Porsche

Virtual Drift Fans – Forza Motorsport 5 is Confirmed for Xbox One

During all the big Xbox One announcements ahead of the E3 show we discovered that Forza Motorsport 5 from Turn 10 will be released on the new console. The drift community and our Wrecked fan base seems to be far more partial to the drift options in Forza as opposed to the Gran Turismo counterpart. Forza 5 will surely offer great Formula Drift / D1GP wraps and a huge grouping of cars you can take out drifting. Perhaps we can do another Virtual vs. Reality competition like we did back in Issue 15/16 with Vaughn Gittin Jr. at Horse Thief Mile.

BC Racing Virtual Drift Cup in Forza Motorsport 4

Drifting in Forza 4 is stepping up its seriousness with a BC Racing sponsored event that allows you to win real prizes and parts for your virtual performance. The three judges include Formula Drift drivers Chelsea DeNofa, Jeremy Lowe, and Patrick Goodin who even released a 10 minute drivers meeting video walking you through the rules of the game and the virtual track Iberian Mini Reverse. This drivers meeting video can be found here.

Rulebook wise the game is pretty simple which limits you to RWD cars only. Engine, suspension, and tire modification have zero restrictions for this Forza contest. However, no positive camber is allowed with your suspension tuning of the vehicle. You also must run the BC Racing logo which is available in the storefront. Below is a link to the complete rulebook and how to enter and win free stuff.
