Want a Free Trip to Formula D Long Beach? Buy a Scion FR-S

Scion is taking all the first purchasing FR-S owners (86 of them) and bringing them out to Formula Drift Streets of Long Beach along with some other events in early April. They are also throwing in a tour of the Toyota Motor Sports National HQ and the Toyota Automobile Museum in California. The guys at Scion are fired up about the 2012 Formula Drift season while they support Ken Gushi in the FR-S (pictured above) and Tony Angelo with the old Scion Racing tC. Anyone else thinking about purchasing a FR-S?

Ken Gushi’s Old Scion tC in Flat Black with Tony Angelo

The Scion tC formally run by Ken Gushi is now in the hands of Drift Alliance member Tony Angelo. The car has been paint prepped in flat black and is headed out for some testing in the Scion. Hopefully Ton Angelo and his team can make some vast improvements or reliability into this car for his 2012 season. I think he should consider just leaving this thing flat black for the new season, what are your thoughts?

Tony Angelo To Drive The Scion Racing tC In Formula Drift 2012!

“TAngelo Racing is happy to announce a return to drifting in 2012 with factory support from Scion Racing. After three years as a Formula Drift judge and technical manager, Tony’s long awaited return to competition is met with personal excitement and lots of hype from his fans.

Tony will be driving the #33 Scion Tc from 2011, with a whole new look and feel. The crew will consist of drifting favorites, “DA Aces” Lindsay Ross as spotter, and Mike “Carluch” Edwards wrenching on the car. While Tony has been keeping active in overseas competition and driving with “Bloodmasters,” a drifting gang producing explosive missile car videos out of Englishtown, NJ, he’s psyched to return to FD competition.

“I couldn’t be more excited to get back into the drivers seat for 2012,” Tony said. “Scion is a brand that is very active in drifting, and is doing really fun things for 2012. I’ve always been impressed by their presence in FD, and I am totally pumped to be part of the Scion Racing Family.”

Bloodmasters Present Bloodbath Part 1 at Englishtown [VIDEO]

In case you ever tried to convince someone that drifting wasn’t just full of hooligan kids doing random hood-rat shit in the time  between robbing liquor stores and mugging old ladies then please don’t show them this video. All joking aside this Bloodmasters Part 1 video shows off some intense skill and entertainment all focused around Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey. The video features some Formula Drift drivers such as Ryan Tuerck, Chris Forsberg, and Tony Angelo who all seem to be driving “missile” car S13′s as they slam into each other, parts of the track, and about anywhere else you could think of around the race course. My favorite part of the video falls around 3:13 when they have a five car tandem (two cars going one direction on the track and three going the other way) all at the same time. This is shown in screen capture three above. Follow the link after the video to see a full list of credits for the Bloodmasters Bloodbath Part 1 video.

Tony Angelo Stepping into the old Scion Racing tC for 2012 [RUMORMILL]

The Scion Racing tC that ran with Ken Gushi and Hankook Tires for 2011 might not be retired from the sport after all. The rumormill is abuzz this weekend that Drift Alliance member Tony Angelo will be given the tC to run his 2012 season. Not really sure of the Scion tC will have 100% factory support like it did in 2011 with Ken Gushi but we can imagine some of the vehicle sponsors are coming along with the former Formula Drift judge for 2012. This sounds like a great start to the new season for a driver who hasn’t been behind the wheel in Formula Drift for several years. What do you think about Tony Angelo driving this Scion tC?

Bloodmasters Teaser [VIDEO]

The team is half street gang and half missile drift crew which is composed of several Drift Alliance Members, a few Drift ALliance Aces, all mixed in with a few new bloods of the sport. The video boasts Ryan Tuerck, Chris Forsberg, and Tony Angelo tearing up Englishtown Raceway in what has to be one of the best drifting videos we have seen in a long time. While the Drift Alliance these days is all but dead (except for Rhys Millen joining the team) this just marks the feeling of 2004 Drift Alliance or dare I say the “Bad As Hell” days. Sit back and enjoy one awesome drifting video.

Who Should the Third Man Be for 2012 in the Formula D Judges Tower?

Tony Angelo announced his retirement from the judges stand and a return to driving in 2012 last night at the 2011 Formula Drift banquet. The blog post has turned into a hot buzz of talk who people think should be his replacement in the hot seat. Who do you think should take the judges stand next year and why!? If we can get a few names said over and over again we will launch a poll later in the week.

Tony Angelo Returning to Driving in 2012 [CONFIRMED]

The Formula Drift 2011 Awards Banquet has kicked off, and right off the bat dropped a bombshell of a story: Tony Angelo will not be returning as Judge and Technical Manager for the 2012 Season. He has mentioned getting back behind the wheel, however did not mention a ride or major sponsor for 2012.
