The Florida drifter Zoltan Hajdu is no stranger to anyone in the know focused around the southeast drift scene. Way back when he drove a black beat up BMW and now he has this Stage 6 Nissan 240sx. Zoltan will be a rookie this year in Formula Drift with this all out turbo LS2 machine. He shouldn’t lack power at the big tracks like Las Vegas and Seattle but interesting to see how this setup fares at some other events. What do you think of the car? Full build sheet if you click read more below.

Odi just posted some awesome photos of his 240sx with a brand new look for 2012 thanks to the guys at 702 Graphics. His new title sponsor is M7 is represented along with his other partners Feal Suspension, DSTROYR, and Nexen Tire. He did mention in his e-mail to us he is working on bringing along some other partners before the Streets of Long Beach rolls around. Hands down this might become one of my favorite cars in Formula Drift for 2012!

Robbie Nishida is currently working on this Lexus SC300 for the 2012 Formula Drift season! His new teammate Daigo Saito will also be in a Lexus next season making them the Lexus brothers in the new season. Both cars we can only imagine will come with 2JZ engine power plants and be presented at Streets of Long Beach. Former Urbanracer editor Bob Hernandez is working on a story for some other website and we will make sure the data/news comes to our readers as soon as its made public or we figure it out.
The big rumor and question still remains about the newfound funding/sponsor this team has received in 2012. We keep hearing about a tire company who has stepped on board for them but the 2012 Formula Drift rulebook shows no new approved tires to date for the series.

The Garage Boso website just posted some pictures of the new Ross Petty S15 for 2012. The blog post does confirm this S15 is still running a LS3 V8 and four speed dog ring transmission. However, the camouflage is a whole new addition. It looks like they took the three rasta colors from the 2011 wrap and threw in some black as an accent color. All I know is that I actually really like the new wrap and cannot wait to see it in person at Streets of Long Beach in April.

We pulled a quick screen grab from this video showing the new Ford Mustang rolling into paint according to ASD. The car is being assembled for international demos according to the blog. The car is a simplistic version of his race car like most international demo cars and features a Ford crate motor.

The Chevrolet Corvette C6 of Luke Lonberger looks like it got a refresh in all red for the new year. We cannot wait to see if he has any new sponsors or other big plans for the car in addition to the new paint scheme. Personally I like the red much more for 2012 than the old black color the car. This photo along with a few others are currently floating around Facebook right now showing off how the car will look.

After Kyle Mohan went into the wall at over 100+ mph in Las Vegas, there were many questions as to if Kyle Mohan’s RX8 would be able to return after such a violent crash. We obtained this shot of Kyle Mohan’s car is it sat on September 20th, before he left for the World Drift Series in China. From the looks of things, Kyle wasted no time getting the car looking good as new in preparation for Irwindale.

One of our favorite eagle eye readers is Cobalt Griffin who found these photos on the GT Channel Facebook page. During Issue 21 of Wrecked Magazine J Brad told us what was happening to this S15. A big V8 and some serious prep work are going into it as we speak. James Deane needs to get back in this car for 2012 but we highly doubt that is going to happen anytime soon. The car is rumored to hit the Middle East for the 2012 demos with maybe Justin Pawlak or Tyler McQuarrie. This could be an interesting competitor to the market!

We found a picture making the car swap for the weekend a done deal. Justin Pawlak is on the Nissan 350z with his #13 car and all. Tyler McQuarrie is now in the Calvin Wan/James Deane S15. We wish James Deane could be driving it but nobody wants to bring him in from Ireland. This is going to shake up things and make Las Vegas quite the interesting weekend. We will keep you posted on how things wind up between these two drivers after qualifying.

Most of you have bailed on him for Formula Drift by now but Tony Brakohiapa has chosen to show up with just two events left in the year. His new body Mustang will be at LVMS this weekend drifting at Formula D. We have missed Tony B. this season big time but it almost seems a little silly to rejoin the series at Round 6 of 7. With the addition of two Asian drivers and Nikolay for the weekend people are just coming out of the woodwork to run the fastest/hottest track on the circuit.
