This just hit the Internet which is a Royal Purple x Iron Man 2 car for Stephan Verdier coming into the 2010 season. Not a bad move since at one point during the off season the car was up for sale. The winner of Round 6 Sonoma now has a much better looking car wrap than 2009 and still retains his Cooper Tire sponsorship.

The BMW is coming together quite nicely and I just love the wheel selection! The car doesn’t look to far off from completion but wonder how much seat time Michael will be getting before the season as well. We cannot wait to see more updates of this machine.

The guys at Bergenholtz Racing along with Joon Maeng are getting prepped for this season by getting involved in some testing in March. With just over 30 days until the 2010 Formula Drift season it’s good to see some teams testing, especially one with a new driver. How do you think this team will do in 2010?

Today at Horse Thief Mile some overpaid film crew and Chris Forsberg got together to shoot a NOS Energy Drink TV commercial. Not sure what all the commercial will entail but our best guess is we will see it airing on Versus this season. That is about all we got from the shoot since our invitation was revoked.

Dodge Motorsports has a new 2010 website up which features some very interesting information about former Formula Drift champion Sam Hubinette. The new updated website has the 2010 Formula D schedule listed along with pictures of the “Top Secret Pictures of the Dodge Challenger Coming Soon.” The car was unveiled at the SEMA 2008 show but has never been seen drifting to date by the public. No photo or video has been released of the car to date but it looks like it’s going to debut this season. I cannot wait to see this one if it makes it out.

Here is a snapshot of Conrad Grunewald doing some testing at Laguna Seca in his 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. NOTE that is being a great role model by not wearing his helmet in this photograph or any of the video shot. The car is powered by a LSA engine out of a Cadillac CTS-V which sounds superb. The car actually looks almost odd at this angle. I am not going to lie that I want to see this thing in action at Long Beach but judging by our 2010 poll not many others are too interested. Conrad will most certainly have some blue ovals to watch out for in 2010.

Here is the set of the new Fantasy Factory season on MTV where Vaughn Gittin Jr. and his Ford Mustang are attempting to grind their way across this long rail with what looks like a jump at the end from some other pictures. Episode will air sometime this summer and I’m interested to see how this one is going to go down.

Look what we just found on twitter. This Mustang will be doing a grind for the new season opener of the Fantasy Factory with a Vaughn Gittin Jr. inspired Mustang. While I am positive this isn’t his his new competition car it sure looks like Monster Energy drink is on that car doesn’t it, along with all of his other sponsors Ford, K&N, Bosch, and Falken. Here was our report earlier this week, Vaughn Gittin Jr. is a Monster.

The Gruppe-S blog just released some puzzling photos a few days ago of “Robbie Nishida’s Nissan GT-R. For starters those sure aren’t Hankook Tires on those factory rims but the Bridgestone Potenza’s that come from the factory. This car sure looks like a far cry from the item that was rolled out at the 2009 SEMA Show in a full Hankook wrap with body kit, suspension, and wheels. The SEMA show car is pictured below.

Now I gave this car a very detailed inspection and according to my SEMA notes this car was OEM painted black. The car they posted on the blog is sitting in silver. This probably explains the 0% tint they placed over the whole car as well. It looks like they slapped some parts and vinyl on a stock machine for the show and dealt with the race chassis later.

Overlooking the photos and assuming they are current someone better stop “avoiding the project” as the blog said and get in gear. In case the calender is stuck in 2009 they should realize that Formula Drift Long Beach is barely more than 60 days away. While accepting the fact that the SEMA GT-R was a fraud (I think it’s safe to say they didn’t spray it silver from black to put vinyl on top) it makes us wonder if the actual race car will vary from the SEMA show piece.

Ken Nomura earlier today was spotted with the first picture of his car drifting on our blog and that is a two year in the making disaster from all I can tell. I saw that GT-R in person at the 2008 Tokyo Auto Salon in the Dunlop Tires booth and it’s just now rolling out into testing. This make me nervous for Robbie Nishida and his performance in the 2010 season. How do you guys think this car is going to perform in 2010?

Apologies for the small photograph but we found this on the Dunlop Tires Japan Drifting blog. It appears that Ken Nomura has successfully gotten his Nissan GT-R to drift before the boys at Hankook have Robbie’s car in race spec/testing form for 2010. Now here is to hoping that is shows up at Ebisu Circuit in March for Round 1 of D1GP Japan. This isn’t a CG render of the car sliding around either like has been placed in the Option/Japanese drifting magazines. Huge thanks to Cobalt Griffin for the tip on this one!
