BFGoodrich has been involved with drifting over the past few years mostly with Sam Hubinette and his Dodge partnership. The two time champion will be losing access to the BFG KDW tire since BFGoodrich will no longer be an approved tire for the series starting in 2012. In other news they have rolled out the g-Force Sport COMP2 and we got invited to test it out.

Sadly with their exit in Formula Drift you cannot see them in action for all seven rounds but you can make them a purchase at your local tire shop starting in Q2 of this year. The tire is a huge improvement over the old COMP tire hands down. BFG really reworked the wet characteristics of the COMP2 and made some serious improvements within the tire’s compound and inner structure.

The tire really seems to be one of the best daily driven/occasional track weekend tires on the market today. The new silica infused compound allows drivers to push the tire to the limits, and keep it there, before it gradually fails. This differs from past and from competing tires, that when pushed beyond the limits, the tires just sort of give up. While testing the BFGoodrich G-Force Comp 2′s, we tested the tire utilizing VW GTis on a wet autocross course (pictured above), and Dodge Challengers on a dry autocross course where we took the liberty of sliding the Challengers through some of the turns to find that even with the weight of such a vehicle, the Comp2′s maintained their composure and provided a sense of security when pushing the tire to the limit.

While we may not get the opportunity to breathe in BFGoodrich smoke at Formula Drift Long Beach, rest assured that BFGoodrich will be making strides to push forward in an ever-competitive market. They are releasing 50 applications between 195/50R/15 and 275/40ZR/20.

Here is the Magnaflow Exhaust 2011 Camaro SS that received the seal of approval from Mario Andretti and sat inside the Magnaflow booth all week. Now Formula Drift champion Sam Hubinette is going to take the car out to Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch to compete in the Optima Battery Street Car Challenge with other similar built vehicles. Normally we see Sam wheeling a Dodge in just about everything he does but this time he is driving a bow tie in competition. We will see how he manages the Camaro and we assume it will be one of the last times we see him not driving under the Dodge banner.

The new song released yesterday by Kanye West x Jay-Z called Otis features the most amazing modified car I have ever seen in a music video. Granted Kanye has a track record with brilliant vehicles including his Czech supercar he brought out for a music video in his last album. The man actually driving this flame shooting limo is none other than Formula D champion Sam Hubinette. If he ever returns to Formula Drift (we have been told in Las Vegas) we cannot wait to talk with him about driving this thing around in the video.

The famous SEMA unveil we leaked back in 2008 featuring the new Dodge Challenger has hit the auction block at eBay now. The car has no bids (we are not shocked) with a starting point of $99,000. The news gets worse when you dig into the post and read this, “It presently is a rolling chassis with drive train and suspension, as well as all body molds. Anticipated cost to finish project is approximately $35,000.00.”While we promoted Taka Aono selling his AE86 yesterday as a great deal I think this is the exact opposite. Sadly due to the passing of Shawn Carlson this car never touched a wheel on a Formula Drift track.

The advertisement does note that the car comes with a NASCAR Garry Stanton A8 Sprint Car engine along with a G-Force transmission. The car still has it’s roller blade wheel rear end along with most of the items it was displayed at SEMA with. You have 5 days t0 get your bids in!

Buy It Now: eBay.com
