Daigo Saito to Drive Ferrari F430 at Formula Drift Japan

DaigoSaito.FDJapan

I don’t even know if I really believe Daigo Saito and all his rumors/nonsense for 2015 at this point. First, he unveiled plans to drive a Lamborghini in D1GP which I thought was completely insane.  Now, it looks like he is set to repurpose this Ferrari F430 track car into a drift machine. No idea how he intends to do this within the spirit of the Formula Drift rulebook. On top of all that……. he is bringing an insane Nissan GT-R to America that will run the season on a 21 inch tire. I almost don’t know what to think anymore….. but he is single handidly keeping the 2015 season interesting in case you think nobody else in the sport is.

Robbie Nishida Shows Off 1000hp Nissan GT-R at Tokyo Auto Salon for Formula Drift Asia

RobbieNishida.1000hpNissanGTR
Tokyo Auto Salon this year might have more drift car debuts than the SEMA Show at this rate of unveilings. Thanks to Mad Mike Whiddett’s social media savvy we found Robbie Nishida’s new Formula Drift Asia build. A 1000hp Nissan GT-R featuring a flat olive look and a Liberty Walk wide body kit. We don’t quite have all the specs on this car but it can serve I would imagine as a testing/learning vehicle for Daigo Saito’s GT-R coming to Formula Drift USA for 2015. No word yet if Robbie Nishida will also be running the most insane tire sizes for 2015 along with Daigo but we can assume, yes indeed.

2014 Formula Drift Japan and Asia Season Wrap Up [RESULTS]

FredricAasbo.RSR.ToyotaFT86

Fredric Aasbo locked up the Formula Drift Asia championship with his finish at Formula Drift Japan podium. His dominance in FD Asia could tip him to be a huge candidate for the Formula D World Championship next year.Masashi Yokoi just dominated everything over the weekend, which was more exciting by a rumor he has petitioned for Formula Drift in 2015, shared during the event by several people. Daigo Saito flicked off Jarod DeAnda and also finished on the podium. Fredric Aasbo was called out by the judges for his “off-throttle” games many said he implemented in Formula Drift USA this season. His team RSR protested the call but it was not upheld. Here is how the podium finished up:

1. Masashi Yokoi
2. Daigo Saito
3. Fredric Aasbo

Is Kenji Yamanaka Coming Back to Formula Drift?

KenjiYamanaka

Kenji Yamanaka was a constant delight over the past few years when he ran Formula Drift and the NOPI Drift series. He drove a various lot of S-Chassis cars through the years and was one of the most animated drivers you could find on the grid. He took to Facebook yesterday and posted this car chassis above with this text in Japanese you can see below:

今回のアメリカでの打ち合わせ。いい感じにまとまりそうです。

いよいよケンジ・ヤマナカとしてドライバー復帰致します。

台風が帰ってきますよぉ〜
(^_^)

まだまだやる事が沢山有りますが、沢山の方に助けられ、
そしてまたそのお返しが出来るようにこれからプランニングを煮詰めて行きますので、
ご協力していただく企業様

宜しくお願い致します。

Which Google roughly translated as:
The meeting in the US.

Unity seems to feel good.

Finally we return the driver as Kenji Yamanaka.

Typhoon is coming back!! ~ (^ _ ^) there are many still do, but helped by lots of people, and also able to return from this go to ironing out the planning so you can help companies like thank.
