The snow is all melted in Canada which means the Drift Mania series can kick off in 2011. The first event takes place just outside Quebec City again at Autodrome Montmagny. The summer has arrived and drifting is back up and going in Canada. Round 1 of the 2011 DMCC series is underway with a Quebec City event at Autodrome St-Eustache. The American Invasion of the north is still alive as Miro Ovcharik arrived in his pink 240sx and took home 3rd place for the weekend.

The Drift Mania Canadian Championship held it’s Drift 4 Cash pre-season event this past weekend which brought out the pros along side pro-am drivers in a competition for Cash on the Spot. This mix of drivers along with cash payouts differs from usual competition, and was an excellent warm up for drivers in preparation for the beginning of the 2011 DMCC Season which kicks off in 2 weeks.
DMCC Rookie Jeff Laflamme took top honors at the event in his V8 S13, which marks an excellent start to his first season as a DMCC Pro. Jeremy Glover captured all the action, which you can see in the gallery found just below the results.

Chris Forsberg Giving Drift Lessons to Shawn Hartum
Check out this video put together by Drift Mania driver Shawn Hartum from his drifting lessons with 2009 champion Chris Forsberg. They used Chris Forsberg’s missile car S13 for the drift lessons at Willow Springs. Shawn Hartum is seen throughout most of the video attacking the Willow Springs course with a white helmet on.

The two time Drift Mania champion and Formula Drift driver Matt Waldin has a new look booted up for 2011. His new title sponsor Helix, which he sent me and I haven’t tried yet, along with a much larger BC logo and Federal Tires for the new season. This is the best looking I have seen this 350z to date and we’ll see if Matt can back it up with a third DMCC championship and a better performing Formula Drift season in 2011.
CYRIOUS PRODUCTIONS – Snow Drifting with Pat Cyr
Pat Cyr hopped in his Toyota Corolla and went sliding around in the snow up in Canada. He brought along Cyrious Productions for the shoot to capture all of the information. The video has no music behind it so sit back and enjoy this Drift Mania driver ripping it up in his little Toyota Corolla in the snow.

Our friends up north just put the finishing touches on the 2011 Drift Mania Schedule and it looks like they’re changing things up this year by wrapping up the season with a monster 3-day event at Circuit Icar. Here’s what the schedule looks like for 2011:

This year in review shows off the talent of Dave Briggs who even came and won XDC Irwindale here in the United States this year. Rumor has it for 2011 he will be in a new Nissan 350z so this could be the last video footage of his S14 drifting.
