Jeremy Glover caught this amazing snapshot from Drift Mania Round 7 over the weekend of this Toyota Corolla driving/drifting on two wheels around the course. How it got in this position is beyond us but it looks damn impressive. This is our snap shot for Friday and we think you cannot find much better than this!

The end of the 2011 Drift Mania season is here with Round 7 at Circuit ICAR taking place. A huge 500+ image gallery finishes off the 2011 season. Watch as the heavy hitters of the series such as Dave Briggs, Miro Ovcharik, and Pat Cyr continue to dominate the Canadian series.

An American dominated another season of Drift Mania this year with Miro Ovcharik. Ryan Tuerck and Matt Waldin have taken a championship from the Canadians in the past and this year was no exception. Here is the championship finishing order:

1. Miro Ovcharik
2. Dave Briggs
3. Jeff Laflamme

Round 7 at Circuit ICAR in Montreal, Canada put this full season to a close. It has been a great seven event this series this year which was invaded by Americans and dominated by some familiar faces. Our gallery from Jeremy Glover is coming very soon. Here is how the podium stacked up:

Being collateral damage or being swindled by a fraudulent sponsorship is something no one wants. When you might see hundreds to thousands of sponsorship proposals in a given year in the motorsports industry, especially at the busiest times of the year like the build-up to the SEMA show, how do you filter the good from the bad?

“I’ve been working in the industry and dealing with sponsorships for 15 years,” said Cheralyn Smith, Marketing Manager at Advanced Clutch Technology, “At ACT, we get hundreds of proposals in a given year, and usually sponsor 40 to 50 of them. However, it seems like in the last couple of years, the amount of fraudulent proposals we receive is growing.”

“With the advent of social media, it seems easier for people to put together fraudulent proposals,” Smith said. “The information is readily available and they can pull images of someone else’s car, logos, car build information and use them in their fake proposals.”

Many of these fake proposals are often a way for the requestor to get cash, or free parts and other goods to turn around and sell for profit. Manufacturers can equip themselves with simple verification measures. Dino Rossi, Jr., Product Manager of Vibrant Performance offered one way Vibrant Performance verifies the legitimacy of the proposals they receive.

“If you don’t know them, structure the deal so you can’t get burned,” Rossi said. “If the person seeking sponsorship is unwilling to accept your terms, walk away because, in most cases, they need you more than you need them.”

The event takes off over at Texas Motor Speedway and lacks some of it’s common drivers due to a DMCC conflict this weekend in Montreal. Jeremy Glover attacked some USA Vs. Canada mayhem with his lens over the past weekend. While Americans celebrated Labor Day around the country some drivers went and invaded Canada. They didn’t seem to care about our holiday and threw one hell of a Round 6 which they dubbed USA Vs. Canada. The Americans took home the victory in the end but check out how much fun everyone had in the process.

Miro Ovcharik finds his way on the podium yet again after taking the top position at DMCC Round 6: Canada vs. USA. New Jersey local Miro Ovcharik headed north to Montreal where he bested Canadian Marc Landreville who took home second. Texan Nate Hamilton made the trek up north as well to round out the podium with a third place finish.

Drift Mania held another round at MoSport putting the 5th weekend of the 2011 series that is in the books. Jeremy Glover was on hand to capture the drift clinic run by Pat Cyr in his AE86 (photo above) for his domination of the weekend. The two top guys in the championship missed the podium completely setting up a three way race for a championship coming into the end of the year.

Drift Mania at Mosport is complete and the season is coming to a quick end in Canada. The top two leaders in the championship race were absent from the podium this weekend at Mosport. The crowd was wild and this little AE86 got ready for battle and took home the win.
