“TAngelo Racing is happy to announce a return to drifting in 2012 with factory support from Scion Racing. After three years as a Formula Drift judge and technical manager, Tony’s long awaited return to competition is met with personal excitement and lots of hype from his fans.

Tony will be driving the #33 Scion Tc from 2011, with a whole new look and feel. The crew will consist of drifting favorites, “DA Aces” Lindsay Ross as spotter, and Mike “Carluch” Edwards wrenching on the car. While Tony has been keeping active in overseas competition and driving with “Bloodmasters,” a drifting gang producing explosive missile car videos out of Englishtown, NJ, he’s psyched to return to FD competition.

“I couldn’t be more excited to get back into the drivers seat for 2012,” Tony said. “Scion is a brand that is very active in drifting, and is doing really fun things for 2012. I’ve always been impressed by their presence in FD, and I am totally pumped to be part of the Scion Racing Family.”

Members of Drift Alliance huddled around Chris Forsberg’s rig at Round 7 of Formula Drift and talked about Rhys’ interest over the years to join Drift Alliance. Because it’s rumored that only cars that wear the DA Wreath take home carbon fiber trophies, Rhys had to be inducted after his win in Las Vegas. If you watch the video through the end, you’ll catch Rhys Millen giving his favorite drifting website a shoutout.

We reported about the possible retirement of Rhys Millen after this weekend and mentioned they might be talking to Ryan Tuerck to hop in the car for 2012. Well apparently someone has a sense of humor because his rig has the Drift Alliance crest on it this morning at the track. If you remember a famous Rhys Millen interview with GT Channel he said “maybe he should just join the Drift Alliance,” and it looks like he has done just that! What do you think about these two Redbull powerhouses getting together in 2012?

Ryan Tuerck Vs. The World at PBIR

Ryan Tuerck provided us a in car view of his Mobil 1 RedBull Chevrolet Camaro from Formula Drift Palm Beach. You’d never believe this was only his second time in competition in the new car with how he drives it. It was interesting to see Ryan’s calm reaction during his follow run against Walker Wilkerson when he decided to pull a ton of angle. The video ends with Ryan’s battle against the winner of Palm Beach, Justin Pawlak.

We managed to catch the first glimpse of the brand new NOS Energy Drink 370Z in action on the streets of Long Beach. While filming these clips, I had noticed how incredibly consistent Chris looked in his new chassis, so i decided to overlay a couple of the runs and sure enough, it’s almost unreal how consistent Chris Forsberg is looking at Long Beach.

If this is even a fraction of what we can come to expect from Chris in 2011, we may see him taking back his championship title from Drift Alliance teammate Vaughn Gittin Jr. come Irwindale.

On a related note, today is also Chris Forsberg’s birthday! Happy Birthday Chris from everyone here at Wrecked Magazine!

Ryan Tuerck made an appearance at Formula Drift Long Beach Media day to shake down what will inevitably be Eric O’Sullivan’s Pontiac Solstice. After a series of great looking passes, Tuerck looks to have attempted to one up his spoiler wall tap from last year’s Formula Drift Long Beach battle against Vaughn Gittin Jr. by taking a bit more off of the rear end of the Solstice. The end result will buff right out, i’m sure.

The 3rd and final round of the FXOpen Drift Series at Speed City in Malaysia was this past weekend, and participating in the series was a number of international drifters which included Drift Alliance founder and Formula Drift judge Tony Angelo.

Tony Angelo had a pretty nasty crash on day one of round three behind the wheel of the Torco S15, and we stumbled across these images of the crash below. The car looks pretty thrashed, however Tony managed to walk away unharmed, which is great since we’re looking forward to seeing his handsome mug at Formula D Tech Day this Weekend.

A great video showing Drift Alliance ace driving the Gardella Racing Pontiac Solstice around this track. With some light snowfall going on they kept on testing at this amazing track in New York. The fact that this has been added to the new Formula Drift Am series up in the northeast. This should be a delightful treat for the up and coming drivers of the area.
