One of the best events in 2010 was the Singapore event at the Formula 1 track. Daijiro Yoshihara designed the track on a section of the Formula 1 track. As you can see American Formula D driver Charles Ng was in attendance drifting a borrowed Nissan Skyline. Another successful event thrown by Formula Drift Asia which is told in pictures just inside our gallery.

Vaughn Gittin Jr. hopped up and made a great speech thanking all of his sponsors and partners like Falken Tire.

The Falken Tire girls were at the Fantasy Factory to help unveil the new 2011 Ford Mustang.

The 2011 Ford Mustang features a RTR-C front end and a new look that I am kind of neutral about. The car still has our advertiser K&N Filters on the roof. The car just seems more complex than ever which doesn’t seem like a good thing considering recent championship history. The simple cars have a way of staying together and rising to the top year after year and this thing is far from a simple Mustang. Only time will tell how Vaughn Gittin Jr. will do and this weekend will be a good benchmark for the 2011 season.

Here is the drivers list for the XDC event this weekend which is the first round at Irwindale Speedway. Tickets are still available for the event which they attached some huge dumb car show/modelpalooza. The drivers turn out at Vegas Drift last weekend looked better and the Just Drift event booked Sunday has 30+ listed. This might be a really easy way to license up for some drivers looking on how to get into Formula Drift for 2011.

The Wrecked Magazine Project 350z will be there and completed which is truly an exciting thing to see. It is getting it’s finishing touches done as I type. The long awaited game for Formula Drift has arrived on our website. Once you register you become a Formula D general manager commanding a roster of four drivers. You can compete in public leagues where you can invites friends and have randomly assigned players join to fill the league. You can also run a private league which requires you to invite anyone you want to play into your game. So start a league with work, your drift buddies, or some degenerates from your favorite car forum and draft up for Long Beach!

The game will allow you to score one point for these 10 categories:
1.Top 32 (Anytime a Driver Of Yours Makes It Into the Top 32 You Will Receive One Point)
2.Top 16 (Anytime a Driver Of Yours Makes It Into the Top 16 You Will Receive One Point)
3.Top 8 (Anytime a Driver Of Yours Makes It Into the Top 8 You Will Receive One Point)
4.Podium (Anytime a Driver Of Yours Makes It On Podium You Will Receive One Point Regardless of what Place on the Podium)
5.Vehicle Malfunction (One point will be rewarded to your team if any driver on your team has some sort of vehicle malfunction)
Example: This could be anything from blowing a transmission to not starting at the line.
6.Wreck Tow Off (One point will be rewarded to your team if any driver on your team wrecks his car and must be towed off the course by a tow truck.)
7.Wreck Drive Off (One point will be rewarded to your team if any driver on your team wrecks and is able to drive off on his own will.)
Example: For your driver to qualify into this category he must leave some parts on the track. No bumper taps will count here.
8.One More Time (One point will be rewarded to your team if every time a driver on your roster participates in a One More Time battle regardless of what round he is in.)
9.UnderDog (One point will be rewarded to your team if every time a driver on your roster wins a tandem round of drifting against someone who qualified better than him at the current event.)
10.Team Tire Podium (One point will be rewarded to your team if any driver on your roster who shares a tire company with a driver on the podium.)
Example: Note that your own driver will not count for this. For example, since I have Michael Essa and he runs Maxxis Tires I received points at 2009 Irwindale Speedway Round 7 since Ryan Tuerck was on the podium.

I got a link today from the guys at Formula Drift which features a 30 minute+ recap of the 2009 season minus Irwindale Speedway. Some great behind the scenes content, announcing mix ups, and umbrella girls set the tone for this great thirty minute season review. Hello ladies of Panama as they gave the green flag to several Formula Drift drivers for the weekend of demos in the Central American country. Ken Gushi’s Scion tC is gracing the September 2009 issue of PAS Magazine. The Formula Drift Scion tC is looking great on the cover and the inside pages have a a full breakdown of the car done by Jacob Leveton. To compliment the Scion tC they put Tianna Ta on the cover to move some more copies. The issue also has 200 pages of randomness and a Speakers/Nitrous Buyers Guide.

Drifting Dirty with Hankook Tires

Check out this Hankook Tires video they went out and made at El Toro Field. It includes the three Dyanamic Autosport drivers Ryuji Miki, Eric O’Sullivan, and Robbie Nishida. The video features these three guys drifting around El Toro and three ladies in black suites. At the end Eric O’Sullivan retreives a beverage from another lady to close off the video.

Michelle Cifuentes watches Formula D Irwindale Qualifying

Speedhunters took their Need for Speed girl Michelle Cifuentes and shot her version of the Formula D Irwindale qualifying session. This was a great piece to close out the 2008 season for the Speedhunters crew and we really enjoyed the tour around Irwindale Speedway.
