Odi Bakchis unveiled he will only be using the Hyundai Genesis coupe for the 2016 Formula Drift season that he performed so well in. Odi Bakchis brought life into this Genesis coupe by finishing second at Streets of Long Beach after another driver failed to perform in the car. The other big news is that Odi Bakchis has broken up with Nitto Tire after the 15 season. He has come full circle and returned to Falken Tire after a stint with Nexen and Nitto. How do you think he can finish up with his solid program for 2016?

Very cool. Rumors were swirling about a couple drivers switching to Falken, seems like the Blue and Teal is gaining some momentum back.

  2. Twitch_6 says:

Any word on how this effects Odi competing over seas in 2016?

  3. WingZeroCustom says:

I’m guessing he might just swap the cars out. Run the 240sx Overseas and the Gene here.

  4. DavieBoy says:

Im hopping Odi runs the s14 in the Overseas market. That car is well built and competitive for years. Im happy he’s staying with the Gen coupe. I can see him finishing in the top 5 next year, but it really all depends on the rest of the field. Will Aasbo have a new car, how fast can JTP, JR get the S550 chase dialed in to be competitive, will Tuerck be more consistent, will Gushi, Wang, and Field come out on fire like in 2015. The 2016 season will be great and exciting, and i cant wait to see more awesome battle like last year.

I feel like this article emphasizes a certain S13 driven by an unmentioned subject could have done better if an unnamed driver wasn’t driving it, that later piloted this car, but remains to be un named, haha.

In other words, it’s good to see some the guys who have straight raw talent getting in some solid equipment, improving the legitimacy of it.

  7. Doozer says:

To be fair pike meaters, unnamed driver was on unnamed tire, which certainly wasn’t helping.

Thanks Chris. Glad someone aroind here actually follows drifting. But I guess D1NZ isn’t as cool as using a GTR to remove Xmas decorations or some shit like that.

  10. Twitch_6 says:

can you watch replays of the livestream? All I can find is a 39 second promo clip.

  11. Christofur says:

Best you could do is wait for the highlights. Subscribe to OTV, oversteer tv, on youtube. They will put a recap vid up soon.

OTV uploads a lot of stuff besides the round highlights. Like raw onboard drift footage.

Im in CA, I was up till like 11pm last night watching what went down on the 9th in NZ. Tuerck made a mistake, straightened, on his lead in top 32. Basically gave it away.

Towards the semis they let him do demo runs in between battles or tire changes.

Great show they put on. There’s another round towards the end of the month. Daigo will be attending.

Figure out how many hours ahead NZ is from you ahead of time. 21 hours ahead of CA time, for example.

Twitch, watch the 2014/2015 season to get a feel for the series. They have a 6 video playlist that recaps the whole season.

D1NZ’s seasons run split year. This would be the 2015/2016 season technically. I haven’t watched the highlight vid for Rd 1 yet but I saw it uploaded, like 10+ minute vid.

    OVERSTEER TV , ftw.

  13. Fifty says:

I don’t see how this is relevant, I’m sure odi’s driving will still be. Cheap and boring.. Now in a car with less angle? Let the stylelessness begin.. On a car with less mechanical grip on a less grippy tire. That means he’s gona be inside linning with 3 degrees of angle all year

  14. Twitch_6 says:

Thanks Chris. I did watch the OTV highlights of the 14/15 season a while ago. Some great stuff. I was hoping there was a way to rewatch the livestream, like with Daily Motion, but seems I’m out of luck. I’ll just wait for the OTV show. Fingers crossed Pukekohe stays dry this year 🙂

  15. SAVAGE_STATIC says:

Hahaha Damn.yall are catching some heat for posting that stupid ass Christmas vid and not posting the rad off-season footage.
