Pat Mordaunt with the Retaks S13.5?

Posted on May 1, 2014 In Formula D Patrick Mordaunt Rumors/Gossip

Pat Mordaunt dropped on social media a few days ago this photo of him sitting in the Retaks S13.5 that has seen many years in Formula Drift. In fact, Toshiki Yoshioka just borrowed it for the Super Drift Challenge last month. Pat would confirm with me that he did not buy the car outright but that is about all he would say. Some people have suggested that Pat Mordaunt will campaign this car instead of the Genesis coupe for the east coast legs of Formula Drift after blowing two engines at Long Beach but that is just speculation. What do you think he is up to with the Retaks 240sx?

I attended my first drift event at Road Atlanta in 2005 while shooting for Import Racer Magazine (RIP). Since then I have produced drift content for PAS Magazine, Modified Magazine, Drifting Magazine (RIP), and many more publications. I was the producer of the movie Slide America and then helped found this website in 2007.

  1. Snowdrift says:

A much more reliable platform for him. Hopefully, he will do so well they won’t put him back in the genesis, one can dream.

  2. Wegs says:

This is basically the car I’ve wanted to see Pat in. A reliable, tested, and proven platform. I hope these rumors are true because I think with a V8 and simple S13 he can truly do well. Just seeing what he did in that SR S14 some years ago I’ve got some good confidence that he could make this work. Definitely has the talent.

  3. Internet Hero says:

didnt yoshioka win in atlanta with that car a few years ago?

  4. Cody says:

Yoshioka came in third in it. Bill Sherman won a lot in Nopi in it)when it was the Enjuku car), even winning the championship twice I think.

  5. Blaze1 says:

I think Bill podiumed in Sonoma in this as well.

Personally I feel the car is dated for today’s FD but its definitely better than THAT Hyundai.

  6. Pat Goodin says:

Can’t keep big red down. Longest running car in formula d.

  7. Michael says:

He needs to be in a reliable car with power, which is exactly what this is. Hopefully he’ll be driving it in Atl and Miami at the very least. He’s got potential if he can just drive a reliable competitive car!

  8. Danny George says:

Tuerck Podium’d in Seattle in it I believe? Qual’d first at LB same year? That car is beat and needs some updating to be legal. Should just swap a simple LS into his 350z.

  9. chewy says:

Anything is better than the ark POS

  10. Cody says:

I guess we will find out in a few days.

  11. bro says:

Confirmed by the Retaks team today.
