Some of the strangest things happened over the past weekend at Texas Motor Speedway with six protests and two overturned judging calls happening over the main event. We opened up a poll asking if you liked the calls were overturned here at Texas Motor Speedway and the vote has stayed around the 60% yes and 40% no range since it opened.
Sitting in the grandstand for Top 16 it was a pain staking process when the Pat vs. Vaughn battle was being debated and looked at by the judges. I like that Ryan Sage said he is against protests only for the sake of the show because I have long felt the fans get the short side of the stick.
I’m torn on the situation and debate at hand still and it seems like the fans are as well. On one hand I think the Robbie Nishida vs. Odi Bakchis call was one of the most blatant mistakes/incorrect calls made in the sports history and it would be a shame to not have that given an OMT. I’m still just super torn on what the right call is to be made with protests moving forward. On one hand the injustice of a driver getting his incorrect call fixed is fantastic but at some point it comes at great expense to the fans and “the show.” Obviously Formula Drift faces quite a pickle moving forward as both of those parties are their masters so to speak.
