No entry fee’s and higher payouts than formula D…. That’s funny coming from a much smaller series that makes way less money.

  2. Mike D says:

Don’t forget only exists in one province too. this is all in Quebec.

take a look at the title sponsor, i’m sure that their events will coincide with the DMCC events and make them even more money, FD doesn’t offer 2 laps in a Ferrari for 500 dollars.

  3. Brian says:

FD also isn’t full and run by french people that only care about their ethnic pride. FD wants to grow and take drifting to people and grow the sport and the fan base. DMCC thinks people should come to it. Arrogant series ran by arrogant people.

  4. Jordan Hamelin says:

    Brian: It’s new owners.

And I am pretty sure that all these changes is to help the drivers and promote the sport to bring it to another level and not to do money with it, otherwise they would not give 187 000$.

  5. eastbaydrift says:

We can compare all day long but let’s just hope drivers get paid. In drifting history, there has been groups that love to throw out big numbers to attract sponsors and drivers but at the end of the day short changed drivers when they started realizing they couldn’t pay the prize money they promised.

  6. Drift Man J says:

They should spread the searies accross Canada or hold a western DMCC again because there are way better driver on the west coast.

  7. Tony says:

Half of the FD drivers make no money running the series. Unless you make it big. Drifting is a very costly sport. I can’t remember the last time a privateer got a podium finish in FD. I think FD should raise there winnings as well. Also cut back on the drivers fees espically for the low budget teams.

  8. SidewayzsJZA80 says:

People who live outside Quebec stop complaining! If you don’t like that fact that the series runs entirely in Quebec, then start your own! If not do like the rest of us and drive down. More money and they brought back the pro-am! For the record I live in Ontario!

  9. Brian says:

I live in Ontario and I’m pissed cause I want the sport to grow. If the series doesn’t care about us, why should we care about the series. The reason I’m mad is cause they give this song and dance about loosing money… Which they do and that attendance numbers are no where near QC numbers which they aren’t. They say all that but really that’s all it is. If they brought back even a $200 entry fee and say at the very very minimum there’d be 20 drivers. That’s $32 000 raised fpr the year. If they promoted it better in Ontario and didn’t hold the event on Canada Day when there’s a million other things going on I guarantee numbers would be up! and no one seems to get this or take any of that into consideration.

  10. SidewayzsJZA80 says:

The people running DMCC are completly new owners. In Ottawa, we where suppose to get an event this year. The reason we didn’t is because the facility they planned on using would commit to improving the tract to DMCC standards. I’m sure the new owners are aware that there is a huge market in Ontario, more precisely in the GTA. Perhaps, the CSCCS series in your end of the province makes them more reluctant to commit.

  11. Mike Peters says:

All of you guys with these excellent business models, go risk your own money and do it.

  12. Chris Licup says:

Wow. Wish FD was the same way. No entry fees would be awesome. Shit even pro am getting paid that amount is almost as much as fd pays their podium finishers. Shit between paying for entry fees, hard cards, gas, and tires for one event I spent almost $5k. Shit is not cheap if you are a rookie. Thumbs up to DMMC

  13. Chris Licup says:

  14. Mike Peters, Texan Native says:

    Formula D is smart.

If you have a soup kitchen, you get a bunch of bums that are more interested in smoking pot than brushing their teeth.

If you charge $50 a plate, you get people who are expecting nothing short of classy, and they come prepared accordingly. FD’s fees weed out the (or should, I learn about some drivers funding and wonder what they’ll be doing when they’re 40) people who don’t understand this concept, and attract the people with the means to truly pursue pro Motorsports that understand the professional representation a series like FD commands.

Free entry fees need to go away. I like the idea, for pro am or local it’s great but sends the wrong message for a truly pro series.

  15. Brian says:

For once I actually agree with Mike Peters. lol if it’s actually him

  16. Mike Peters says:

That’s actually me. Wish Joey and Jacob would quit being lazy and get a login feature, then again they’re probably getting more interest since people can just post as Mike Peters.
