Dave Briggs has officially retired the Nissan 350z it appears for the 2013 Formula Drift season. Instead he has called upon one insane SR20 build to get him running during the new season. Our Canadian photographer Jeremy Glover put together a video of this car ripping it up on the dyno! What do you think about this insane sounding 4 cylinder in Formula Drift this season?
Great to have a SR back in FD. Going up against all those V8′s.
Good luck buddy!.
Sorry the sound is not the greatest..lol
sssoooo did he sell the z or what?? sr sounds cool i think??? maybe???
He’s using the Z in dmcc.
wonder what happened to the crazy NASCAR V8 motor he had in the Z…
Daigo bought those nascar engine !
The z as an ls7 now
Cant wait to see what Dave can do with is good old s-chassi , with mazworx (sr24vet) , turbo by garrett , comp clutch and alot more as partners only good can happen !
Nascar motors were sold to Daigo….
The SR sounds retarded in person!
What are they revving that thing to? 6000? come on…
Well, I’d guess that it’s still in the Z… y’know- because he’s not sold the Z?
Great to see him coming back for another crack at FD, but I don’t think an SR20 can cut it at this level anymore…
That’s a small engine under a lot of stress to make the kinds of power needed in Modern FD, let alone with any kind of drivability.
Good luck to him, but I don’t see this setup being whats needed for success at this level…
That SR is built by one of the best builders in the US that builds drag SR’s. I’ve been helping Dave with turbo selections and with the match we did for him, it will be extremely competitive.
Sr20 is very competitive
That sounds like every other SR out there… Recorded on something that can’t pick up sound well.
404:insane sound not found
Bad recording for sound only. But, great to see him still at it with what he knows. I always found it interesting when a driver works his ass off in one car for years, gets put onto a team with a car never driven before, and boom they cant qualify. Stick with what you know. I just wanna see Long Beach already. I dont care who is rocking what engine in xyz chassis. Lets get them skid racers to long beach stat..
YEs only 6000rpm…you dont tune all the way to 9500rpm in one shot!!
And no it does not sound like a regular SR in person! The video isnt great sound wise!
