A quick visit to the Formula Drift website and the sponsors tab will show off Yokohama Tire who hasn’t been around since securing some championships in the series what seems like decades ago. We also fired up a rumormill post that Maxxis Tire is coming back to drifting in 2012 but nothing confirmed with Formula Drift. Yokohama raises a good question of who will be running the tire this season but we imagine every driver or wannabe driver without a tire this late in the game is going to put in some due dillegence this weekend and make a phone call to the tire powerhouse on Monday looking for some sponsorship. Also a worthy mention is the addition of Electric Sunglasses which happens to be listed under MAJOR sponsors of the series for 2012.
Hey Yokohama….Welcome back!!
Please send us some japanese drivers! I’ll take some Orido with a side of Takatori with extra Yamanaka. Thank You.
Is cooper coming back this year?
Edit: FD took the yoko logo down, hope this is true… it aint april yet lol
I actually wouldn’t be suprised to see Sam and maybe even Rhys back on Yokohama, Forsberg back on Maxxis, and Hankook focusing on less cars.
Blaze 1 says:
“Best comeback tire of 2012″
We need Kenji!

I wonder if. Bridgestone and Toyo will be back.
I’m glad some of these companies are recognizing that drifting isn’t just a fad and a waste of tires.
Bridgestone is too busy sponsoring the NHL to care about a sport that actually involves cars…
^Agreed. Those new Bridgestone commercials about the new balls are dumb, especially since one of them is a bowling ball.
Hey Wrecked, the Yokohama tab is gone.
buahahahahaha all the balls references on here make me laugh. is the tab gone? someone check this im much to lazy to do this !
Balls. That is all.
