2011 Formula D Rookie Odi Bakchis Showing Off Reverse Entry in his M7 240sx [VIDEO]

Just the other day Odi showed off his new look and partners for 2012 in this great photo taken by Oliver Petalver. He even put more power coming through his LS2 engine with some high compression and other goodies to step his game up in 2012! He went out to Willow Springs for some testing and released this reverse entry video of him having some fun in the new car and showing he is already extremely comfortable in his M7/Nexen S14. Follow the link below to see the video.

Let’s see tandems…
It was alright…he lost way too much speed doing it.
Jealous of reverse stuff since I don’t think the miata will ever be capable. I dislike how 99% of reverse stuff just comes to a halt and or makes the line shitty. Maybe it’s just that need to get back into the gas a bit sooner. Odi is the man regardless and going to kill this year. The reverse into his arsenal is going to take him to another level to match that sick car!!
peep his face book for new pics of his bad ass new ls motor going in his car this weekend!!
only backwards entry i have seen with sick line and no loss of speed
this is how its supposed to be kid-0s

and this one trumps kados, with no loss of speed good line and in a tandem comp with a close follow

Even Swedes go backwards… In tandem
Don’t forget about Walker in his S13

I heard this guy is pretty good too..

Kawabata

See what I mean. Kado’s was solid but on a open corner its hard to say about the line.
Jelani that was sick but didn’t work in reality. Off line, jerky at end to save. Stall out kinda.
Walkers looked pretty solid at that angle and slow mo. The overhead shows it better but can’t find.
Fields was ok but again not on a clip just open corner.
This guy’s is the best non pro in a comp ive seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggeJZVJrBQU&sns=em
That kawabata is one of the only ive ever seen where it looks executed on line and just plain nasty. Didn’t look like a save. Best entry or backwards I think so far.
Now I’m not talking shit cuz I wish I could do it but there is a fine line of useful backwards and just doing it cuz. I’m sure within a couple years it will be the norm in drift. How does it ever get crazier then this once everyone is doing it I have no clue.
This tops all http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5FuB6dIWE8
Done in a tandem
Don’t like Odi’s entry tbh. Way too much correction and loss of speed for my taste. Kawabata is still the only one to nail it 100% imo.
Having said that, reverse entries aren’t really that difficult. I thought it was, until I borrowed a near stock S13 and had a go. Here’s my very first attempt after a 6 year break from drifting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOt3ltQCMRQ
I managed a couple more with even more angle, then I got cocky and spun out…
But my point is that it’s not really that much to it, as long as the corner allows for it. You just need to over rotate a little, but slow down the rotation before you spin out. The front will almost always come back around if you have the right setup (not too much front grip) and the space and speed to do it. So rather than watch these videos and be amazed, go out and practice. It’s easier than you think
I hate how backwards to bobble to weak drift is now called “BACKWARDS ENTRY BADASS!!(#@@(*@#$&*”. The actual clip in this post is embarrassing. If done in comp, that would’ve been a zero. Period. Backwards entry done right (I.E: Kawabata, or that Ebisu North vid, even Naoki’s vid) is cool. Backwards bobble drift is just a gay attempt at making a viral video because Walker Wilkerson did it. Let’s get back to the real drifting, kids.
Easy internet pro drifters…he was practicing and having fun. Tirekicker, I made love to your mom last night and it will be a viral video on retube.com
tire kicker in a way your right its retarded hints why we all posted up our own opinions of better examples of said backwards entrys. imo backwards requires rear wheels to spin backwards otherwise its just a hard initiation to fail misserably. i think luke from drift documentaries has the absolute best example of this on his vimeo page, too lazy to look
Just curious if anyone knows who is replacing Tony in the Judging Stand?
im not so lazy after all here is the proper way to do it

Danny George thnx for input, much respected. But Field’s entry, open course? It was Sonoma FD track!. Too bad there wasn’t a better angle
Was not very Impressed by Kado’s, awsome driver. But entry was just a torque save.
Odi’s was just slow and boring, I mean come’on he did it on the back side of balcony how fast are you actually going…
Kawabata’s entry how every is still the standard for backwards entries
Time for a new post on the Wrecked Blog….getting slow over here.
And I know about being slow.
Hmm…Odi does a reverse entry “TESTING” aka practicing, in a corner thats tighter than 90 degrees. Every video posted on here is a reverse entry on a 90 or greater on a wider track. Just saying its not really a fair comparison.
My backwards entry video is going to be turn 1 at Long Beach into the wall. Boooooyah. Talk about the milestone of backwards entries. Rookie. 1st corner. 1st run.
Get that post ready wrecked.
@DannyG LOL! I think someone beat you to that. I think there was an FD rookie who did that in their first FD event during practice. Shit happens, but I wish you the best in your rookie year!
