The video at PGP highlighted some holiday drifting which was filmed by Loren Haleston with a Canon 7D. The northwestern grassroots series is quite awesome group of guys who clearly have the dedication to go drifting during the holidays when the weather is far from permitting in the region. This is one of our first pieces we have posted from Loren Haleston but we dig his work as well.
The 2012 Just Drift event series is locked in at Willow Springs just north of Los Angeles, California with plenty of events for Am drivers to get practice and excitement in for 2012. At least one event from February to December in 2012 provides drivers and fans with tons of entertainment.

It looks like the guys from Wreck ‘Em are dropping another a video coming up here in January 2012. We enjoyed the last DVD these guys released from Australia on our website and after checking out the trailer this one seems like more of a hit than the last one. The best part of this two minute trailer is by far the last rolling seconds as you can look at the fear in the drivers eyes just before the impact moment.
The D1 Grand Prix series has posted a new schedule for the 2012 drifting season. After reviewing this schedule they have two direct conflicts with Formula Drift in the United States with Round 3 at Autopolis which conflicts with the US event Evergreen Speedway. Round 4 of the D1GP season finds them at Ebisu Circuit while Formula D is at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This means Daigo Saito splitting time to run both series is highly unlikely. Here is how the 7 round D1GP schedule stacks up for 2012 with a notable absence of Fuji Speedway:
Round 1 – April 14/15 Tokyo, Japan at Odaiba Circuit
Round 2- May 26/27 Suzuka Circuit
Round 3 – July 21/22 Autopolis
Round 4 – August 25 Ebisu Circuit
Round 5 – August 26 Ebisu Circuit
Round 6 – September 22/23 Chubu International Airport
Round 7 – November 3/4 TBD
Well the drifting world started a little pre Christmas buzz and now has checked out for the holiday week we bet. Regardless of the holidays Ford is still putting on the Tournament of Ovals which has seen Vaughn Gittin Jr. defeat Tanner Foust along with other Ford superstars. Today he is pitted up against NHRA legend John Force and needs every vote the drift community can swing him. So follow the FB link below and cast a vote for the 2010 Formula D champion.

The team is half street gang and half missile drift crew which is composed of several Drift Alliance Members, a few Drift ALliance Aces, all mixed in with a few new bloods of the sport. The video boasts Ryan Tuerck, Chris Forsberg, and Tony Angelo tearing up Englishtown Raceway in what has to be one of the best drifting videos we have seen in a long time. While the Drift Alliance these days is all but dead (except for Rhys Millen joining the team) this just marks the feeling of 2004 Drift Alliance or dare I say the “Bad As Hell” days. Daigo Saito who is now Formula Drift America bound in 2012 took home another win in the Formula D Asia series. They were battling in Malaysia and he wound up battling D1GP star Manabu Orido in the RSR Toyota Supra over the weekend. Orido spun out and gave Daigo Saito an easy win in the finals. Here is how the top three finished:

Former Formula Drift driver Jodin Lejeune sold his Infiniti G35 drift machine to a customer in Europe recently. The JDM Garage Infiniti G35 is now white with blue accents. Sadly someone sent us these photos of how much the poor former Formula D car got smashed up recently at a local event out in Europe. Hopefully they can get the car back together quickly after this accident!
According to some various reports and the Facebook page of Jarod DeAnda it appears that the rumor right now is that Daigo Saito will be running a Lexus SC430 this season in Formula Drift. We do know that APEX’i has been doing some off season prep work to the car in preparations of what we can only assume would be competition.
We do know that Hankook Tire won’t be supporting the Daigo Saito program next season because his team/support is coming from a new tire company that is entering the series next season. I cannot seem to figure out who this new tire company is but we are quite excited to keep hunting for information for you guys. How do you think Daigo Saito would do in the old APEX’i Lexus SC430?
M7 is making its first big step into Formula Drift next year with a sponsorship of Odi Bakchis. In Japan they support some huge drifters in D1GP with Imamura, Suenaga, and Orido. After talking to Odi he will be running M7 motor oil, M7 gear oil, M7 brake fluid, M7 Spark Plugs, M7 gauges, and a M7 Touch R.A.C.E ODB communicator. On top of all that he is even running a M7/Nobuteru Taniguchi Edition Bride racing seat for the 2012 season.
