Ken Gushi is ready to take on the 2011 season but apparently his team might not be as prepped as he was. According to his blog he wasn’t happy with his 18th place qualifying place but he less happy when his engine failed on Saturday. Below is a clip from his blog talked about the engine “taking a shit” as Ken Gushi said. The team lacked a spare motor to get the car going so they parked it while Ross Petty got a bye into the Top 16.
My match was Ross Petty.
Or at least it was supposed to be before more engine took a shit on saturday morning. Wtffff foreal?! Serious?! I don’t understand.
The part that pisses me off the most is that this is the first round of the season and we are already on a bad start. No spare motor? You gotta be kidding me. All my fans, friends, family, and sponsors came to watch me do what? Sit around??

I was really bummed about that. Ken Gushi was looking like a bat out of hell in practice and qualifying, and i was really looking forward to him doing well in competition.
keep your head up, Ken!
so he is bagging on his team, and their lack of preparation? publicly?
Yikes!
Isn’t this the same thing that happened in Long Beach for Red Bull Drifting Championships a few years back ?
Drifting at a professional level requires a lot of preparation, I’d expect most teams to have at least 1-2 spare engines, rear ends, transmissions in stock if they want to be a championship contender.
Maybe they shouldn’t get their motor built by a guy who’s known for blowing up motors
Wow this is sad. The guy has talent, and for his team to not be ready with even a dummy spare engine that’s basickly stock shows some bad budget managment. Even I am looking into getting a spare engine and trans before my first drift event and I’m not even sponsored or have shop support its just me. Hopefully the team learns a lesson.
Maybe he should have a FD preped missle car on deck just in case. Just sayin’
I mostly just talk about drifting, and which drivers I like
hehe. But even I have a spare motor.
He was shredding in practice!!!! Too bad that happened..
ummmm maybe his team didn’t prep him a spare motor cause he’s a giant d-bag by the sounds of it! lol maybe it was his fault for pushing it too hard… there’s a number of reasons and for publicly flaming your team…. not cool… not cool at all
DTA Bro.
That sucks! Gushi got talent, how can they not have a spare motor? WTF?
Whether or not his team came prepared, throwing a hissy fit isn’t professional. I’m sure Scion is pleased to see %50 of their drift program is throwing a public tantrum. There are plenty of other talented drivers that would be excited to be getting paid to blow motors in long beach.
LOL. like a professional driver has NEVER put his team on blast for being dumb you idiots that are like “omg hissy fit” and shit are retarded.
So, judging from what Brian said, Gushi’s dumb for pushing hard because he pushed hard to win, much like any other round. So, instead of pushing hard to win the round, much like his sponsors expect from him, he should just play it safe, and pussyfoot around the competition and just HOPE he wins, right?
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a genius on hand.
And it’s not like they couldn’t just have a second spare motor, which I’m pretty sure they could have a lot of, seeing as how it’s still pretty plentiful, unlike trying to find a random SR or RB out there. It is kind of irresponsible for a Works team to not be able to supply their racing programs with even a spare stockie.
Yeah, I dunno…I’d say Goosh was justified in what he wrote on there. I’d be a little surprised if I was on a works team ((for the actual BRAND of car, Scion, no less)) and they didn’t have a spare motor for the thing…I mean…don’t they technically get em for free? :S I think if Goosh wrote in there, “MAN my fuckin crew SUCKS” then people could start getting madz on the internutz. I wasn’t at Long Beach tho, so I dunno what happened in person. If he had a hissy fit yelling match at the track that everyone saw, then that’d be kinda lame too. I’d say this blog thing is kinda blown outta proportion tho
This kid ain’t done shit since like 2003. Lucky he even gots a ride and its not his daddy that has to put him up in a whip like times of yester year. Bad mouthing your own team gets you nothing but not having a ride for next year, unless you steady winning and other teams are chomping at the bit to pick you up… which you ain’t, and they probably ain’t.
What Gushi said here was:
“The part that pisses me off the most is that this is the first round of the season and we are already on a bad start. No spare motor? You gotta be kidding me. All my fans, friends, family, and sponsors came to watch me do what? Sit around??”
There’s actually NO PLACE in this paragraph where he blows on his sponsors or crew members. Judging from it, he’s actually putting all the frustration in the solitary fact that there’s no spare motor. He then expresses the contempt he feels in the fact that he has to just “sit around” while his “fans, friends, family and sponsors came to watch me [do nothing.]” He didn’t bash Scion anywhere there.
Honestly, you guys are assuming everything from nothing that was said. In all actuality, all your assumptions on what was said and not is really gonna make this worse for Gushi in the end. Cut it out.
tqbloid wrecked magazine puttin the spin on things

Lets face it, Ken Gushi can not drive period. He is lucky as shit to be sponsored in the first place.
I’m pretty sure this is just a testament to how much that Scion sucks. Ken was pretty fun to watch in the mustangs.
