We have gotten some tips that the Drift Emporium program might be gone for the 2011 Formula Drift season. They have had a large presence in the sport for several years by running a multi-car program. This could leave some talent like Takatori and Forrest Wang looking for a ride in 2011. BFG will take a big loss if this is the case by we did take note that they have a long stranding drag racing relationship with Titan Motorsports who is already rumored to be entering Formula Drift in 2011. This to me seems like a great partnership that could form in 2011. What are your thoughts on this team dismantling for 2011? It leaves some possible cheap Formula Drift cars for the marketplace as well?

AW Films Presents PGP Summer – Making Dreams Come True

Check out a great recap of the northwest drift region’s summer events by Abbitt Wilkerson. The video from AW Films runs just over three minutes and really shows off some of the talent they have hidden up in the northwest. It is almost a wonder how XDC isn’t driving up at Evergreen Speedway or somewhere similar. It is possible since they announced they are adding one event to the schedule and removing Las Vegas.

So I got a tip last night that XDC is looking to move up to 7 events for the 2011 season. With this information I am told they are strongly looking at an event in Florida but no details on specifically where it would be in the state. I was also told that Las Vegas Motor Speedway is off the schedule for the new season. Nice to see that the season went so well that they are looking at expansion.

The former D1GP star and Formula Drift round winner has been seeking a ride for the 2011 Formula Drift season. He has never driven a full season in Formula Drift but did do a half season with the AE86 above. In that half season he was able to take home first place at Formula Drift Las Vegas. He was at Formula Drift Sonoma watching the event and visiting some teams in the paddock area. It will be interesting to see if someone reaches out to pick him up for a full ride in 2011. Would you like to see him driving in Formula Drift next year?

James Deane has been doing double duty this year while driving a full ProDrift season and a half Formula Drift season during 2010. Well his hard work has paid off and after his win at Round 5 this past weekend in Ireland he was able to secure the championship. If he runs Formula Drift full time in 2011 I will be interested to see if he stays running ProDrift to defend his title?

Another Xtreme Drift Circuit event is in the books for the 2010 season. Doug Van Den Brink took home his second victory this season. Earlier in the year he took home the win at XDC Summit Point. The weekend was met with some rain but all the drivers were in good spirits and put on quite a show for the fans who came out regardless.

The 2010 Prodrift season has come to a close this weekend after the Fermoy event. James Deane, who drives the Falken S15 in Formula Drift, took home the victory for the weekend. We have been hearing rumors that James Deane will be able to complete in the 2011 Formula Drift season here in the United States, using the Falken S15 he has been driving.

Marc Landerville Crashes During Post Race Celebration at Drift Mania Round 6

Check out Marc Landerville crashing his pink S14 after winning the Drift Mania Mosport event. He climbs up on his door and starts ghost riding the whip. Suddenly he loses control of the car and it lurches right into the media tire barrier. Oh well, at least he won the round first and it wasn’t Top 16 introductions.

Check out Vaughn Gittin Jr. this weekend at Street League in Las Vegas as he will be performing Skateboard Car live for all the fans. It sounds like quite a wild experience and we are bummed we will be missing out on the fun. If you happen to be in Las Vegas this weekend go check it out and send us some pictures.

Check out all the coverage from Mosport last weekend which finished off the 2010 Drift Mania championship. The event took place in Toronto, Ontario Canada which brought out a huge crowd. Our photographer Jeremy Glover captured some great images from the Drift Mania finale. Matt Waldin ended up taking home the 2010 championship.
