Eric O’Sullivan Wants Another Qualifying Run – Files Protest

Apparently when Eric O’Sullivan went out for his second run he got caught up in all sorts of oil left on the track from the previous car that shut down the track for 20 minutes for oil cleanup. According to someone from his team on the exit of the bank oil was left everywhere causing Eric to make a huge correction and get a low score (65.0). He filed a protest with Formula Drift after requesting another run and being denied from what we are told.
I am guessing Eric O’Sullivan isn’t going to get very far with this complaint especially since he made the Top 32 it appears as I type this (JTP is running) up for the site. Matt Field who ran before Eric we are told also spun due to the oil issues but we haven’t had a chance to speak with him. They focused cleaning up the oil on the front straight failing to remove it from other locations is the report we got from EOS team members. Should be interesting to see if anything happens with this and we will update you guys.

Who left the oil on the track? Was it from ACP’s crash? Why would he want to run again if he is already in the 32? What if god was one of us? Just a stranger on a bus?
The oil was from Jeff Jones Rx7. I dont blame Eric or being frustrated with whats happened. The clean up team spent probably about 10 minutes or more cleaning up the oil, clearly if to drivers spun due to it, they didnt do a thorough enough job. :/
Oil was from Jeff Jones.
Damn, wish I could edit posts. Posted at the exact same time haha.
Seemed more like 20-30 minutes were spent cleaning. And listening to the radio chatter it didnt seem very well organized.
We had the same kind of oil related crash here in
Atlanta. It was freekish to watch.
I know it takes time to clean, but no one wants see a car wreck. Allot of these guys are spending their every dime just to compeete.
I got caught up in the oil too, caused the car to pretty much snap straight. Definitely something on he track, some guys hit it and some didnt.
