Ryuji Miki - Lexus SC430

Look what we found on YouTube today which was sent to us from a friend. Since we can clearly establish this part of the video was shot at APEXi this by our own deductive reasoning is Ryuji Miki’s Lexus SC430. Back in December we announced the car was going to be put in the field: Ryuji Miki to Field Pebble Beach Edition Lexus SC430 in 2010 [RUMORMILL]. I’m not 100% sure what engine we are looking at so I figured we would let the commenters weigh in on that one. Glad to see this project is becoming a reality and cannot wait to see it sliding in Formula D for 2010. The first screen grab comes from the 3:14 mark and the second one comes from the 3:22 mark.

aww those gramlights are beutiful…too bad they cost like a $1000000000000000000 for a wheel.lol.

  3. Slidewayz says:

The motor in question is actually the factory SC430 V8. The unique timing gear covers, oil filler on the drivers side (in the US anyway) valve cover and the coolant flange near the passenger side timing gear cover are identical to this picture from a TT SC with its plastic engine cover removed.

I wonder if Miki’s car will run a turbo setup similar to this one (or a turbo at all) it is pretty tight in that engine bay. The engine in Miki’s SC has what looks like an aftermarket cam position sensor mounted in front of the driver’s side timing gear cover which hints at a stand-alone system being used on this engine, so this is probably the type of motor that will actually power the car in FD.
