Nick Hogan Confirmed for XDC 2010 with Nissan 350z

Just got off the phone with Nick Hogan a few minutes ago and he filled me in on his 2010 plans. He will be driving a black Nissan 350z that is turbocharged. This is a different car from the one he drove to third place at NOPI Pittsburgh a few years ago. That car will be a backup car if needed for the season.
His charity Keep It Off the Streets will be his sponsor currently and he has no tire sponsor but is looking for one for the XDC season. He won’t be racing at Irwindale with the car not prepared but Vegas will be his first event.

On a more serious note it’s nice to see he’s got a sponsor/charity that promotes keeping it off the streets. Sad that he and a lot of other people learned that lesson the hard way by getting someone hurt or killed.
This is a way different ball game than three years ago. Better drivers,cars and no NOPI.
I don’t know what my honest thoughts are reguarding this, but I do know I hope this works out well, and I think Nick has a lot of potential to do good things for the industry, and I really hope for good things, but I’ll be honest to say I’m a bit skeptical, but I am hoping for good things.
Bet this’ll be big news of the week.

and even though he doesnt need any sponsors, he could probably fund his own program, tires and all. I also will bet anyone, a lot companies will back him up this season with sponsorship rather then guys who are great competitors and who are racing with there own money, blood, sweat, and tears.

Forget fame and fortune he is a drifter and wants to be back in the game. I am sure he has the skills to bring it with or with out sponsor. Don’t be hatters just supporters of a fellow drifter.

KIOTT does not sponsor me/pay for me to drift. I PAY FOR KIOTT (the nov28 track day at adams cost me gobs of money but its my group that im raising awareness for and i believe in it), and im totally outta pocket here because i love drifting, if i didnt dont u think it would be much easier to give someone else the money im paying to drive and have them represent…. i know ive been absent form the scene but i never left, ive been hiding in the background at events and reading wrecked mag/blog the whole time. i still read tuner magazines and dream about garages filled with rare jdm stuff just like everyother drifter/jdm fanboi. i still love this stuff and always will, i love the spirit of drift and the community surrounding it, ive met most of my best friends thru this industry and want to meet more and be a part of this community regardless if there big sponsors or tv shows and all the irrelevant crap. anyways…done ranting i just love this sport

i wish nick the best at the end of the day he “is” just another drifter. im pretty sure he has had better and more profitable options in his life. but to make a decision to comeback in to our sport considering of his previous automotive mistake. takes alot of balls.
not gonna lie though, if i were in his shoes i would do the same exact thing. like i said earlier im not a hater. if he brings more attention to the sport that can only be good for all of us looking to move up in the drifting world.
I gotta say Nick I was pretty mad when I heard about your accident not because you took it to the streets but more because you took it there an then your publicity made every other drifter seem very unprofessional. But in reality hey we cant be mad you were already famous an you had a bad day we all push it on the streets from time to time hell that’s grassroots an we all have our days. So I wish you luck an you kill it I want to see some ill ish since you’ve been gone so long. An for all you haters just stfu seriously its over an done with would you want to be vanished from your favorite sport based on a bad night!

i know everybody has their own opinion but for me i cant or never will support this guy i understand everybody deserves a second chance but as a parent if he crippled my kid i would be beside myself but then again i wouldnt let my kid ride with him
