If you plan on drifting this year and passing tech inspection then you will need an approved tow strap. A $40.00 product that makes sure you meet spec and have no issues getting your car towed if it unfortunately needs to be done in the 2010 season. Wow what kind of deal did they work out to force this shit on everyone.
There was no “deal worked out”, just the fact that tow straps are lighter and safer to use than a big metal tow hook. Metal tow hooks are still legal for use in FD and XDC.
Anyone can make a tow hook that will pass tech, but these tow straps are custom made and can pick a car up off the ground. Just drill a hole and bolt them to an appropriate spot on your car.
Is it possible to buy these if we are not involved in Formula D or XDC?
I like them much better than the metal tow hooks.
