Rhys Millen to Campaign Two Car Team Again in 2010? [RUMORMILL]

While recently some rumors flared up about Mad Mike coming to Formula Drift we managed to ignore them until we could find some factual information. Several people have told us that everyone’s favorite drifter Rhys Millen has worked to have a two car Redbull Energy Drink team for 2010. From sources close to RMR we have been told that a two car campaign is in the works with Mad Mike Whiddett. Word has it he will be driving a Mazda Rx-8 for the 2010 season. This one should be interesting and last time Rhys Millen campaigned a two car team with Daijiro Yoshihara in the Pontiac GTO it went pretty well.

This should be interesting.
I would love to see Mad Mike on the FD circuit!
BLAH BLAH MAD MIKE …. old news …. MAGIC MIKE ! NEW SHIT!
Rumor has it he is not doing it by choice lol…
we hate rhys millen
@cam…what do you mean not by choice?
that would be really cool to see him in fd
@cam: that would sound rite.
There are plenty better NZ drifters out there such as Gaz Whiter, Carl Ruiterman etc
thatoneguy
Key word rumor
I got a source that told me that RMR is supporting, maintaining, and or building mike a all new chassis in fear of loosing support from red bull. Redbull was very very pleased with mad mikes success in 09… don’t know how they feel about rhys’s.
Someone please correct me if I’m wrong (with some real information)
Note: Red Bull pulled out as formulaD’s title sponsor.
I wouldn’t be surprised if RedBull sponsored someone else.. go look at drag racing history.
Look at Pastrana in rally or the F1 guys that Red Bull sponsors. They like flash and marketing edge. I don’t know if Rhys has really been giving them that. I’m sure the marketing teams at Red Bull know what it takes to stay on top. I’m not sure if it is the wall street journal or forbes that tracks these things but they have been the most profitable soft drink for over 8 years running last I had checked and when you think about the competition they have, you know those little old companies like Coke, Pepsi, Snapple-Dr Pepper Group, etc… It becomes that much more impressive.
With that kind of competition you would take names and kick ass for results too I would think.
im sorry but this article says he will be driving the rx8 if thats the cause it makes no sense to come cause everybody wants to see the 4rotor FD i mean hell i do more than anything
