The challenge was issued by Wrecked Magazine to Ford and Vaughn Gittin Jr. sometime ago called Vaughn Gittin Jr. It’s Time for a Callout where we wanted to see if a pro gamer could beat a pro racer with the same variables. Pending the sky doesn’t fall in tomorrow we are going to have an all out Shelby Cobra GT500 battle at the track. Vaughn Gittin will have a grabber blue with white stripe GT500 roaring at the track you see above. I will be sitting track side in my virtual GT500 racing around the same track in a Shelby GT500. ummmm…. please dont tell me you are going to use nfs shift to compare. i know turismo doesnt have this track on the lineup on any demo’s yet, so the only thing i can think of is shift…. if so, roflcakes.
Yep Shift it is! While the drifting is a bit harder then most casual gamers would like due to the innovative approach to the build, the road racing is especially dialed. Do you have Shift? It’s gonna be a good time for sure! I am genuinely curious to see the results and how close it really is.
shift is unrealistic. throw it away and buy forza motorsport 3.
@ vaughn..
yeah, i got shift… the drifting is pretty easy, beside that bounce effect. can this game realisticly be compared to real life??? i honestly didnt think so while i was playing it. maybe i should pull it off the shelf and dust it off and see what laptimes i can get @ wsir.
either way, i am sure it will be a good time. interested in how they will edit it all together for the final product.
This is quite possibly the dumbest waste of time and money I’ve ever heard of.

waste of money by who? Pretty sure ford will have some backing in this so let em throw it away, what should u care for. it’s not like they are owned by the government yet.
Ford took a $5.9 Billion loan from the government. Soooooo, yeah, they’re wasting our tax dollars on a stupid promotion/publicity stunt.
Hey Chubby Chaser; the only ones who took a loan from the government were GM and Chrysler. If Ford actually did they would cut back on sponsoring drift teams like the other two did.
Ford took no funding from the government and posted a $2,700,000,000 profit for 2009 Chubby Chaser.
Ford rules for supporting drifting as a whole and Vaughn Gittin. Isn’t this the sport you love Chubby since your on this site so much? We should be thankful for Ford and only hope that other OEM’s will follow suit.
Here is factual information that you failed to provide in your posts.

Denying Bailout Money You Claim They Took:
LINK: http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/business/companies/ford_motor_company/index.html
“Ford happily differentiated itself from General Motors and Chrysler in 2009 by not taking government loans and filing for bankruptcy protection. That helped the company improve its reputation and win new customers.
The company earned $2.7 billion in 2009 and said that it expects to be profitable in 2010 as well.”
I feel the NYT is a pretty credible source of information. With all this said I think they can handle spending ten thousand dollars or so letting these guys go out and have fun. Sounds like your more jealous than anything.
damn…. we got political in here over a time attack, and a video game…
serious buisness….
Oh, I see Forza 3 with the GT500 on Fujimi Kaido tearing it up. Good luck to both drivers in reality and virtually, never was a big fan of NFS Shift though decent. Turn 10 has released their new DLC pack which has introduced the 2010 GT500 aswell as many other cars. Worth checking out especially you Vaughn, your car is once again replicated by thousands and by Casey (Cobra). Good luck again
@GM: I can post links too.

Oooooo!
Says they’re supposed to use the money for development of fuel efficient vehicles. I doubt it considering the government’s terrible oversight.
