It looks like we need to provide an update to our November 23rd, 2009 post The Big 3 Will Be in Formula Drift for 2010 [RUMORMILL] needs some updating. I received an e-mail today from a Monster Energy Drink employee confirming that Vaughn Gittin Jr. has partnered with Monster Energy Drink for the 2010 Formula Drift season. I reached out to Vaughn Gittin’s representation who issued me a quick “no comment,” but trust us, this deal is happening. In what capacity we cannot confirm anything other than they will be involved.
This would give Vaughn a good excuse to field one of the RTR-C’s by using the predominant black in the Monster scheme to run raw carbon.

MotorWorldHype is correct, this deal is going to Sam. This is all lies here. Wrecked Magazine should be better informed on matters dealing with Formula Drift drivers.

All of this speculation is great but I have an e-mail from an employee confirming the arrangement.
I think nuformz was in talks with monster late 08 early 09. But seemingly talks came to a stand still after mopar pulled out and or when Shaun died (RIP).
It looks like almost all sponsorship went through Nuformz not Sam…

So I bought a Monster last night to try it, and to spend money since they’re doing something I think is cool.
This morning, I feel like crap. But last night, I was energized for a bit.
