Tommy Roberts Retiring Gold S13 for 2010 [RUMORMILL]

This poor gold S13 got smashed into pieces twice at Irwindale Speedway this year. One of those was at the 2009 Formula D Pro Am Finals which you can see here that he smashed it really damn good. From some forum buzz and a tip from a San Diego local we have heard that Tommy purchased Henry Schelly’s old Formula Drift chassis. Henry campaigned in the 2008 season for a good bit and even attended the international demo down in Monterrey, Mexico. The car is apparently in Tommy Roberts hands now and he is prepping it for the 2010 season. Here is what the car looked like when Henry was still running it in Formula Drift.
Holy crap, this blog is going downhill lately. A simple trip over to ZipTied and you’d see that he’s swapping everything over to the new chassis. Goldmember/Gold PP7 will be returning.
For people that don’t know about ZT, this maybe their only source for drifting news.
What happened to henry?
Chubby Chaser, perhaps you’d like to start a blog that is on top of EVERYTHING from EVERY source the second it happens? would you please be our CNN or Fox News of drifting news?

The information is a little late but I wanted to give some Tommy as an up and comer some love, no shame in that I would say.

@Brian: True, however, in real news if you post a rumor it’s called liable. Unless you’re a grocery store tabloid.
@anon: If I did start a blog I wouldn’t have a “rumormill” for the reason stated above. I’d rather do research and confirm my facts before I post something.
@Wrecked: Tommy is definitely one of my favorite up and coming drivers despite his poor luck at PRO-AM. Personally, I’d rather see him keep tearing it up at the grassroots level.
Rumors make the people behind them give up the information.
Seems like some people involved in the sport act like its bigger then what it is. Let the people know, if something is WORTH a surprise then keep it that.

I feel you @Chubby Chaser but the real issue comes from when I do my “due diligence” is that 9 times out of 10 I get told the whole story and then am told I cannot post about it.
So having a rumor mill is facts I get from relatively reliable sources that aren’t fact checked so it may or may not be true. That way there is some plausible deniability.
It’s not ideal but it’s the best way to get information to the readers on the website. I cannot tell you how many times I start to investigate and wind up being told, “you cannot post this” or etc. So many of these teams for whatever reason are very protective of what they are doing and it’s very annoying. Appreciate the input.

Thanks for the wikipedia tip. Trust me, I am pretty well versed in that department. My first plan was to become a lawyer until I couldn’t take school anymore. Also, this very website has been sued more than once for things it has said in the past. We have lost zero cases however

I know this might be crazy but if you paint the hankook car gold and swap everything into it wouldn’t that be exactly what tommy is doing? nobody said hes running for any team in here did they?

@Dumbass & Cam: He means the Federal S13. I think Hankook had an S13 HB a few years ago.
I remember JIC had a S13 HB back in the day but they weren’t with hankook at that time
Dynamic Autosport had a S14 that at one point was in hankook livery
Joons S13 HB sported hankook vinyl at some points as well.
