Matt Waldin is now the 2009 Drift Mania Championship after sweeping the series with podium finishes. I talked to Matt Waldin earlier today who was ecstatic about his victory in the TunerIcons/Mishimoto Nissan 350z. He had this to officially say about his victory in the season.
“On the real, Consistency is key to winning a championship, driving 3 FD events before the start of the DMCC season was just the eye opener and conditioning the new car and I needed to be sucessful in Canada. The Tuner Icons / Mishimoto 350 Z had a lot to do with the championship also but I’m officially done bringing a knife to a gun fight.
I will be using a lot of my winnings to compete in the final round of FD in Irwindale for one last hoo-rah for the season. Things are in the works now to build one car to leave out west for next year and one for the east coast events and get to as many events as humanly possible next year.”

Conhrats to Matt, the team at TunerIcons / Mishimoto, and to their Nissan 350Z. I can’t wait to see him drift at a Formula Drift event next year. Please, please drift in Las Vegas.
