Tanner Foust’s Scion tC Protested at Formula D Seattle

Several people/teams protested against the Rockstar Energy Drink/AEM Scion tC just before the Formula D Seattle event. The issues they brought up were the rear subframe which from what we have been told is from a MKIV Toyota Supra and the front firewall being altered. After speaking with safety steward Randy this evening the car has been cleared of all legal issues. Tanner Foust and his team have waived of any penalities or repairs they must make to the Scion tC. It appears Tanner Foust’s victory at Formula D Las Vegas has brought him some additional attention in the series.
That is a slick looking car.. They’ve put quite a lot of work into that beast!
from what i understand it was the whack-ass drift alliance! that protested the car, when meanwhile they have known about the issues from the on-start of the season…they wait til now to protest, i would even venture to say that it was done in fear,knowing that he (Tanner & Stephan) are capable of making some power moves with the season coming to a close!
i wouldn’t be surprised if Vaughn is behind this, and the rest of his doot-da-doot drift alliance. hey, lets have an alliance / include a judge and take over this drift thing! really kills the whole thought / essence of competition!
and since Vaughn cant seem to get it together this season, why not protest. its only logical!

Tony has always shown himself to be totally fair and impartial. He has ruled against his fellow DA members on many occasions. In addition to that there are three judges. Tony’s scores only count for a third of the vote.
As far as bashing the Drift Alliance,they are some of the most genuine stand up dudes in the industry. They have played a pivotal role in bringing drifting to the level where it current is at now. Definitely some of the hardest working dudes on and off the track, and no one drives harder and with more passion than they do.
In Japan Toyota produced a very small number of cars based on the TC platform that were RWD, had 700hp NASCAR truck series v8 engines, and MkIV Supra diffs rear subframes and suspension.

I don’t know if you hadn’t noticed, but prior to Tony joining as a judge there was nobody out there enforcing the rule book on EVERYBODY. Rather than just a select few people.
How is it UNFAIR and BIASED when his vote accounts for 1/3 of the ruling? He has rule AGAINST Drift Alliance in the past and will most likely continue to do so. Tony Angelo is a pussy and Formula Drift is fixed. How can someone from the biggest crew (DA) fairly judge an event??? If I were a team owner or a non-DA driver I would protest the shit out of him being a judge. The sport is going to lose all it’s credibilty due to this fag being a judge and will end up just as gay as the WWE.

foust drove close in smoke behind gittin and had a gap leading with von knocking down the cone at the end. the victory was given to gittin! that took the edge out of the championship race right there.
First of all, the TC that tanners car was built with wasn’t FWD stock, nor was it RWD stock, It is based off of the AWD Toyota Celica that are in japan and europe, everywhere but the US, “TC” stands for Toyota Celica in the US. The reason they are bitching, is because in the begining of the season during the “inspection” not the tech before races, the actual inspection when the car is built, it had the AWD setup converted to RWD by removing the front differentials, then after inspection they removed the AWD system completely, and replacing it with a RWD system from a toyota supra. <~ which is the first rule broke, second, the firewall was moved back “6inchs” to fit the V8 in the car.
