Darren McNamra Blows Engine and Takes Calvin’s S15 with No Luck

Darren McNamara was unable to qualify in his Saturn Sky due to a blown motor before practice. He was staging and the motor just let go! Scrambling in the Falken Tire pits to keep Darren McNamara on top they gave Calvin Wan the boot and let Darren McNamara qualify in his S15. Darren was unable to do much of anything other than grip drive around the track in Calvin Wan’s S15 and didn’t qualify for the top 32 main event tomorrow. Below is a quick refresher on the points chase which will be changing by the end of this weekend.
2009 Formula D Standings Before Las Vegas Round 4
1. McNamara, Darren 260 Points
2. Tuerck, Ryan 232 Points
3. Forsberg, Chris 227 Points
4. Hubinette, Samuel 213 Points
5. Gittin, Vaughn 211 Points

Really?
Well thats the stupidest thing they’ve ever done.
Really shows how much they care about Calvin doesn’t it?
I can’t believe people are shocked by this. This is business as usual for Falken. If you drive for Falken, you are simply another tool in their marketing toolbox. Well, I hope the informed drifting world takes note of this and sends a strong message by (1) not buying their tires, (2) taking of any Falken rubber and vinyl on their cars, and (3) completely boycotting any Fallen sponsored events until a formal apology is made to Mr. Wan and the entire drifting world as a whole.
I am also deeply dissapointed with the FD management for allowing such blatent disrespect to occur at their events. If this sport is going to succeed, marketing needs must not trump fair play.
These actions are severely disgraceful and create an insurmountable disadvantage for privateers and lower budget race teams.
I expect this posting will be deleted, as Fallen sponsors this site and is obviously only concerned with their “good name” and not with the spirit of drifting.
Completely agree with you Bill-O. If I was Calvin I’d quit Falken now.
