A move D1GP USA failed to announce it would appear is the removal of Adam Andretti from the judges stand. An action that brings the series a step in the right direction by removing an uninformed judge in replacement for an experianced Formula D/NOPI driver. Not sure why they didn’t announce this but we have confirmed with several people at the track and on Ziptied. I left him a message on Facebook but he did not confirm back to me himself. D1GP Chicago is currently going on and word has it Quoc Ly already flipped his Driftspeed Siliva! We will keep you posted on the weekend.

Adams Kart Track hosts a weekly drift event featuring some true talent from the Inland Empire. In fact, when we showed up last night we even ran into Ken Gushi who was sliding around a silver AE86. The crowd seemingly comes from no where and fills up the kart track lot to watch a few hours of drifting. Check out our gallery from the drivers at the event.

Vaughn Gittin Jr. sent us this snap shot of him in a GT500 drag racing some planes. The car below is actually being driven by Vaughn Gittin Jr. and their is no photoshop here baby! Vaughn told us the event was over the top and from this snap shot I think says it all. Hopefully we can find more coverage and video from the event soon.

Well following the bunny hop from Ryan Tuerck Vs. Ueo in Las Vegas we have been getting quite some submissions of cars all four wheels off the ground. Then after talking about that crazy event the guys at Pro Drift sent us a snap shot from 2006 where they had a similar accident happen. Now Dean Karnage has twittered this picture of him all four wheels off the ground. With all of this “big air” graviating to drifting perhaps Rhys Millen’s ProStadium Drift Truck Jump Drifting series or whatever it was called is slowly progressing and becoming a reality?

Rhys Millen and his Pike’s Peak Winning Run
Rhys Millen tackled Pike’s Peak in his Hyundai Genesis and Will Roegge tackled the same mountian with his camera. One of the best productions we have ever seen come out of Pike’s Peak this video has us just floored with the quality. This video will get you emotionally hooked to your seat as you watch Rhys make his world record run (breaking his own record mind you) in his Formula D spec Hyundai Genesis. Looks like Rhys would be doing much better this season if only Formula D had events in dirt!

Dynamite Drift Round 2 at Motorland SP in Japan
The GaijinDrift guys who produced the other Japanese video we aired last week from Motorland SP are at it again with this piece from Dynamtie Drift Round 2. This event also took place at Motorland SP and even features a S15 Silvia flipping over as he drives too deep into a turn. Check out this one!

Drift Mania Round 3 took place in Quebec and didn’t quite win the weather game over the weekend. Despite all the drama over the weekend American drifter Matt Waldin came to claim his first DMCC win. Patrick Cyr was undefeated up until this past weekend in 2009. Check out our gallery from Jeremy Glover here.

I just found these photos shot at El Toro Field by DC Chavez of the X-Games 15 Ford Fiesta piloted by Tanner Foust. His Rockstar Energy Drink sponsorship has carried over to this car but it looks like Scion and Hankook are left on the Formula D course while BFG and Ford are taking over his reigns. His renders of the Fiesta which we posted earleir this month had Pirelli Tires but it looks like they got kicked to the curb. We do know one thing, it feels good to be Tanner Foust! The only other thing I know is he is the only one Wrecked Magazine will be cheering for at X-Games 15 this weekend as he represents the drifting field.

Michael Essa drifting at the Streets of Willow
One of the biggest grassroots events is the classic All-Star Bash. Michael Essa covered his Mazda Rx-7 in cameras for the weekend and captured this several minute video of him sliding around Streets of Willow. Don’t miss one of the first videos to come out of All-Star Bash 2009.
