2009 East Coast Bash by Nathaniel Chen
More East Coast Bash footage has come in with this video put together by Nathaniel Chen. He captured the Five Star Auto S15 smashing into the bank at Englishtown. He has some great features includinging on car footage from some Formula D drivers like Vaughn Gittin Jr. to finish it off.

So a few days ago I reported on the rumor that the Formula D Sonoma event might change dates and move to IRL weekend. Well this morning it was confirmed to us by Formula D PR man John Pangilinan that this in fact will be happening. The September 12th date will no longer be in effect and the new date will fall in conjunction with IRL weekend August 21st-23rd.
“Formula DRIFT continues to bring drifting to the big leagues with the addition of our event to the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma,” said Jim Liaw, president and co-founder of Formula DRIFT. “Motorsports fans will be able to experience the 110+ mph average speeds of open wheel racing and all the sideways action of Formula DRIFT in one weekend.”
Old Date: September 12th
New Formula D Round 6 Date: August 21st-23rd
The Sons of Fallen is a televsion show about kids who have lost family at war and let them take the adventure of a lifetime. The show features former WCW star Bill Goldberg and actor Ryan Merriman. Team Retaks was able to give the kids a ride in a drift car with Formula DRIFT driver, Bill Sherman.
Sons of the Fallen, this two hour television special produced by Emmy Award winning Producer Conrad Ricketts (Currently the Executive Producer of “Extreme Makeover Home Edition”) and Co-Executive Producer/Director Jack Cannon (Former Director of “Extreme Makeover Home Edition”, Gone Country) will reveal the stories of 26 boys who all have something in common, their Fathers paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.
Hyperfest 2009 was covered by our man Dan Jenkins over the weekend which has become a big yearly event and festival with two full days of drifting to add to the celebration. Nate Brasz took home his fourth victory in Hyperfest history. Here is how the drivers ranked for the weekend:

3rd Zach Caitlin
4th John Wagner
Rumors have been flaring that Formula Drift and Indy Racing League are going to be working together in some fashion at the IRL Sonoma event taking place at Infineon Raceway. According to the Infineon website the event is suppose to take place August 21st-23rd which is a few weeks before the Formula D Sonoma date at the same track. Not too sure if Formula D is trying to do demo’s at IRL or perhaps do a dual event but the buzz sounds interesting. The one point that confuses us about doing a dual event is the IRL cars use the Formula Drift track from what we understand. We will keep you posted on this story as we try and get more information.

Speedhunters Presents 2009 Formula D Season Part 1 Video
This amazing video piece was made by the guys over at EA’s Speedhunters recapping the first three events in the 2009 Formula D season. The whole video has this very cool horror/halloween vibe to it that I must admit I really like. It’s a new look and spin on the Formula Drift season for sure.

2009 Wall Speedway Gaunlet Video by Josh Herron
What is easily the best piece he has ever produced Josh flew out to Wall Speedway and produced a great piece on the event as a whole. He captured some exciting moments between rained out Friday and a full Saturday schedule. The music from Little People and M83 is a fantastic mix to this video. Don’t miss this one!

Eric OSullivan Attacks the Bank in Slow Motion
Eric O’Sullivan was thrown into this car with minutes of practice and prep at Long Beach and it looks like he is just now getting the hang of things at Wall Speedway. Check out this great capture of him in slow motion entering the bank and flying across it with perfection.
