  1. Does it Matter says:

wow… I guess I’m impressed that the have a large turn out. but I have to say that D1 USA can no longer claim to be the largest series like they have been. FD kills them in all aspects of numbers and quality. D1 would have been way smarter to bring the street series or even a new spec series insted of trying to go after top pros and compete with FD.

  2. scott says:

    james bondurant?
i’m only counting 7 Japanese drivers, although not all are listed, cause i know Yoshioka is driving, and he’s not on there.

weren’t they promising a whole bunch of Japanese drivers?

i do kind of like the fact that a lot of the “big” FD drivers won’t be there, it gives way to more up-coming drivers, like Forrest.

  3. fail says:

As good as these pro-am guys are they are just no match to the japanese drivers in both driving ability and how prepared the cars are. This still seems like a big joke to me.

Maybe D1 feels like rigging something to make an american win, making people more interested in this, who knows.

  4. Mickey says:

From my recollection, here’s a list of who drove at Long Beach:

    1. Casper Canul
    2. Michael Essa
    3. Jeff Jones
    4. Chris Kregorian (Milano)
    5. Quoc Ly
    6. Pat Mordaunt
    7. Cody Parkhouse
    8. Ross Petty

  5. Wrecked Magazine says:

    Mickey,

You would be correct. I forgot about Chris, Quoc, and Cody. Going to fix that.

  6. terry says:

well, it is cool to see big smoke out there drifting again too….

I hear Swine Flu will be making an appearance, can anyone confirm?

  9. Dori Jay says:

    Where is Yoshioka?

D1 are you sure all of these guys are going to D1?
    1. Casper Canul
    2. Michael Essa
    3. Jeff Jones
    4. Chris Kregorian
    5. Quoc Ly

Hearing some are already working on heading to FD Atlanta.

With this list does that mean prize money is going to less the initally stated?
    45 drivers x $100 qualifying fee = $4,500
    16 finalist x $250 pro comp fee = $4,000
50% of reg fees go toward event prize money, thus $4,250 is the event purse… is that right??!!

  10. Fugly Dawm says:

James Bondurant? who is that? oh yeah i saw him wreck his car on his first turn at formula D long beach, totally perfect for this magazine! haha it was so funny, this dude totally coaxed this old rich woman to pay for his car and everything. he totally didnt belong there. and then i heard some kid yell “i knew it!” as if he knew it was gonna happen. man that guy shouldn’t be out there driving if he doesn’t know about the saftey regulations. or at least the danger in this sport and these events. This guy should seriously re-evaulate his career path, stick to being a monkey wrench, or at least a professional mountain biker… hahaha yeah right.

  11. This is beautiful, in that fascinating ironic way. Thank you.
