Drifting in Japan Circa 1995 – The True Old School

When I saw this video I could not resist posting it up here on the website. This video according to Youtube is a decade and a half old and it hosts some drift cars sliding up a mountain road in Japan. You can tell none of these cars really have over 250+ horsepower at all and most of these guys are just now getting the hang of drifting. It’s like a mini Slide America of Japan.

The other east coast event which is coming up quickly will be a two day events now. Fans can come enjoy the track atmosphere on June 5th-6th at Wall Speedway in Wall Township, New Jersey. 45th. Anniversary of the Ford Mustang with Vaughn Gittin Jr.

The Ford Mustang party was thrown at Barber Motorsports Park in celebration of the Ford Mustang. This year she turns 45 and what better way to celebrate than rent our Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. What would a Mustang party be without drifting you say? Nothing! Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Dough Van Den Brink slide around the course all weekend to the fans delight, check it out.

Sam Hubinette from the Podium at Formula D Long Beach

After hopping off the podium in Long Beach we grabbed Sam Hubinette for a quick interview about his feelings post Long Beach. He touched on his battle through the ladder and the damage done to his car by Vaughn Gittin.  Then he goes on to tell us about the Dodge Challenger and let’s us know it will be debuting at Wall Speedway in June.

Vegas Drift 10 with Local Driver Josh Guild

This Vegas Drift event was unlike most grassroots events around America. Some pros showed up and slide with the grassroots guys in harmony at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the event had fans just show up in the hundreds. With a great crowd and some talented drifters Vegas Drift put on an awesome event. This video highlights local talent Josh Guild and his Nissan 240sx to give you a core feel of the local talent here in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The guys over at Tuner Icons sent us this snap of Matt Waldin’s Nissan 350z on fire at a grassroots event this weekend. Matt Waldin recently made his Formula D debut at Long Beach. In his first apperance he qualified for the top 32 but was eliminated by Chris Forsberg in his NOS Energy Drink Nissan 350z. We did not get any details on what caused the fire but hopefully Matt will have the car in good shape for Formula D Atlanta soon.

Pro Drift 2009 – Episode 1 at Donnington Park

The Pro Drift series has taken flight over in Europe with a Round 1 event that kicked off in Donnington Park. This 8 minute Episode from Pro Drift really does a great job of informing you what is going on in the European Series. With quick interviews, an event summmary, and some awesome tandem drifting you should not miss this video!

Formula D Long Beach got a compliation put together by Falken Tires as well that looks amazing. The Falken video focuses on their team of drivers attacking the Streets of Long Beach course.
